WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Oklahoma Christian's Mannon Ceresola took advantage of a turnover in Midwestern State's defensive third to deliver the only goal of the match Wednesday night at Stang Park.
The Eagles snapped a five-match winless streak with the 1-0 victory to improve to 3-4-3 on the season while moving to 1-3-1 in Lone Star Conference play, while the Mustangs dropped their second straight match to fall to 4-5 and 1-3 in league play.
Midwestern State dominated the run of play through much of the game holding a 15-7 edge shots, but couldn't overcome the early miscue.
Oklahoma Christian senior Natalie Davis stepped in on MSU goalkeeper Lexy Jackson as she attempted to advance the ball up the field for distribution in the eighth minute of the game.
Davis' pressure resulted in a hurried low ball directly to Ceresola, who took four touches to find space around MSU defender
Nicole Marsolek and chipped a shot from 30 yards out over Jackson, who backpedaling towards her goal.
Midwestern State managed three shots on goal and freshman
Brynn Covington knocked one off of the crossbar in the second half, but the Mustangs were unable to connect on the elusive equalizer.
Meanwhile, the Eagles produced a few golden opportunities to extend the lead, but Ceresola also banged a shot off the crossbar in the second and forced Jackson into a highlight sprawling save to push a shot over the bar in the 81st minute.

Cassidy Savoy produced six shots to lead the Mustangs attack.
Oklahoma Christian goalkeeper Gabby Goddard made three saves to cinch her second consecutive clean sheet improving to 3-3-2 between the posts.
Midwestern State takes on Texas A&M International Saturday morning in Laredo. Kickoff at the Dustdevil Soccer Field is set for 11 a.m.
