Reynolds and Lenahan shine on Senior Day in 71-56 win over Oklahoma Christian

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State out-shot Oklahoma Christian 41 percent to 30 percent from the floor as they took their final regular season game by 71-56. Hannah Reynolds and Morgan Lenahan led the Mustangs on senior night with 24 and 14 points each.

With the win, MSU clinches tenth place in the Lone Star Conference standings and books their spot in the post-season tournament for the third straight year. The team concludes the season at 14-12 and goes 8-8 in conference play as Oklahoma Christian's year ends at 2-21 overall and 2-12 for the league.

"There is no surprise as Hannah and Morgan were leading us all season," said head coach Christopher Reay. "They got to enjoy their last game at Ligon Coliseum."

Lenahan's opening three-pointer of the game secured her 1,000th career point. The senior added six assists and eight rebounds.

The Mustangs went 24-of-59 from the field and 8-of-19 from behind the arc, helping to push to a 37-38 lead at half. Lenahan and sophomore Sheridan Bostic each tallied three three-pointers. Bostic secured her fourth double digit scoring game of the season with 11 points. Both teams shot 68 percent from the line.

"I'm pleased with the closing efforts in today's and Thursday's games to close out these last two home games," said Reay.

Reynolds tied her career-high of 24 points and led MSU with nine rebounds. She and Frances King's combined 10-0 run in the fourth quarter sealed the deal as Midwestern State led by 18. King dropped 11 points and eight rebounds in her 50th career start.

Kate Bradley's three with 14 seconds clipped the Mustang's 18-point lead to 15. The freshman tallied ten points and four assists for the Lady Eagles. Sophomore Brooklyn Bain tabbed 13 points and 11 rebounds in her 14th double-double of the season.

In her final game for Oklahoma Christian, Kendall Blackburn led with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

"I feel good after winning these last two games at home," said Reay. "It will be a tough match-up at Tyler, but if we stick to what we do best, it will work out for us."

Midwestern State takes on UT Tyler on Tuesday, March 1, in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament. The No. 7 seeded Patriots host the Mustangs in Tyler, Texas, at Louise Herrington Patriot Center. Tip-off is set for 5:15. Coverage will be available on the LSC Digital Network.
