Midwestern State set for 2022 LSC Indoor Track & Field Championships

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Midwestern State competes in the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center.

The meet is set for broadcast via pay-per-view on the LSC Digital Network for the cost of $8 a day.

All video streams on the LSC Digital Network are also available on Over-The-Top (OTT) apps on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Roku by searching "LSC Digital Network."

MIDWESTERN STATE TRACK PARTICIPANTS

60-METER HURDLES

Preliminaries: Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Final: Saturday at 1:20 p.m.
Freshman Reece Johnson becomes the first Midwestern State student-athlete to compete in the 60-meter hurdles at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Championships. She boasts the 11th best time in the LSC this season clocking a 9.47 at the Crimson & Gold Invitational on Dec. 4.

400-METER DASH

Preliminaries: Friday at 5 p.m.

Freshman Tyshi Reynolds set a school record with a time of 58.93 at the Indoor Gorilla Classic on Feb. 11 which stands at the 12th-best mark in the LSC this season. Junior Taylor Carr paced the league's 19th-best time of 1:00.33 at the same meet.

60-METER DASH

Preliminaries: Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Final: Saturday at 2 p.m.
Seven Midwestern State sprinters are set to compete in the 60-meter dash. Senior Jaylen Hogue boasts an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 7.61 which ranks fourth in the Lone Star Conference this season. She is joined by freshman Kennedy Smith (7.84/11th in LSC), sophomore Shakiah Randall (7.87/12th in LSC), freshman Cederia Ellis (7.89/13th in LSC), sophomore Asia Robertson (7.90/14th in LSC), freshman Kierra Hicks (7.93/16th in LSC), and freshman Corinne Thorpe (8.06/20th in LSC).

800-METER DASH

Nathalia Escontrias stands as Midwestern State's lone competitor in the 800-meter dash. The freshman from Odessa owns the eighth-best time in the LSC this season clocking a 2:23.16 at the Crimson & Gold Invitational on Dec. 4.

5,000-METER RUN

Sophomore Christyn Smith delivered the ninth fasted time in the LSC this season at 18:44.14 at the Crimson & Gold Invitational on Dec. 4, while freshman Presley Wall ran a 19:42.05 at the same meet for the 20th-best mark in the league.

200-METER DASH

Senior Jaylen Hogue leads a group of four Mustangs competing in the 200-meter dash. Hogue set an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 24.74 at the 7th Annual Gorilla Classic on Feb. 11. The time was the 29th fastest in NCAA Division II this season and fifth best in the LSC. Sophomore Asia Robertson (25.57) ranks 21st in the LSC this season, while sophomore Shakiah Randall (25.69) is 23rd. Freshman Kennedy Smith clocked a 26.16 at the Crimson & Gold Invitational on Dec. 4.

3,000-METER RUN

Final: Saturday at 3 p.m.
Junior Alexandra Feller leads a trio of Mustangs in the 3,000-meter run by clocking the 16th-best time in the LSC this season with a 10:43.52 at the Indoor Gorilla Classic on Feb. 11. Sophomores Elizabeth Butzke (10:46.50/17th in LSC) and Christyn Smith (10:50.66/20th in LSC) also recorded their top times of the season at the same meet.
