Hilltoppers visit D.L. Ligon Coliseum for showdown with Mustangs

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State welcomes St. Edward's to D.L. Ligon Coliseum for a Lone Star Conference matchup. Tip-off on Saturday is scheduled for 4 p.m.

LAST MEETING | Midwestern State defeated the Hilltoppers, 72-58, as Shawnisay Millar led four players in double figures with 15 points. Yasmine Sifaoui scored 12 points in 13 minutes, hitting 4 of 6 shots from the field. Hannah Reynolds scored 12 points, and Morgan Lenahan added 11 for the Mustangs, who raced out to an 18-6 lead in the first quarter and never trailed. MSU shot 52 percent from the field (27 of 52), including 5 of 12 from 3-point range. Midwestern State had 11 steals and scored 25 points off 20 turnovers. Midwestern State outscored St. Edward's in the paint, 38-24. Morgan Gary scored 18 points in the loss for the Hilltoppers.

LAST TIME OUT | Natalie Stice drilled six 3-pointers on her way to a career high of 26 points Friday night at the Louise Herrington Patriot Center. But it wasn't enough to overtake UT Tyler, which came away with an 88-76 win. Midwestern State junior guard Natalie Stice set career marks knocking in six 3-pointers to finish with 26 points. She also grabbed a season-best eight rebounds, while hitting six free throws. Stice improved to 15-for-15 from the charity stripe for the season. MSU senior guard Eternity Jackson scored a career high with 12 points banging in two 3-pointers while adding three rebounds and three assists. MSU senior guard Sheridan Bostic splashed in two of her four 3-pointers scoring in double figures for the third time this season with 10 points. She has connected on at least two triples in five games. The Mustangs combined to hit a season-high 10 3-pointers going 10-for-26 (38.5 percent) from beyond the arc. MSU won the battle on the boards for the fourth time in the last five games (39-33).
