LAST MEETING | Oklahoma Baptist scored 28 points off 26 turnovers and defeated Midwestern State at Noble Complex, 91-70, when the two teams met last season in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Jordan Mathis scored 14 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the field and made all four of her free throws for MSU. Mathis also had five rebounds and three assists. Sheridan Bostic was 3 of 5 from beyond the arc and scored nine points for the Mustangs. OBU had four players in double figures, including Sierra Copeland, who scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Bison. OBU scored 22 fast-break points in the victory. The Bison outscored MSU in the paint, 40-28. Jill Leslie, who played at Wichita Falls Rider and is the daughter of MSU men's basketball head coach Justin Leslie, scored six points on 3-of-4 shooting and pulled down six rebounds in 19 minutes for the Bison. OBU was 31 of 37 from the free-throw line, and Midwestern State was 9 of 14.

LAST TIME OUT | Midwestern State was trailing 61-45 with 7:22 remaining in the game, but the Mustangs rallied to get within one point of East Central (Okla.) with 1:09 to play. ECU senior guard Izzy Cummins hit a 3-pointer from the left corner with 46 seconds remaining, and the Tigers made four free throws in the final 22 seconds to pull out a 70-62 victory in the final game of the Ashbrook Classic at D.L. Ligon Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. Freshman forward Dyamon Griggs had a career high 11 points and seven rebounds for Midwestern State. Senior forward Mandy Withey had a career-high 11 rebounds for the Mustangs and had 21 rebounds in 44 minutes of playing time during the Ashbrook Classic. Senior forward Jordan Mathis followed up her second career double-double at Midwestern State with 10 points, five rebounds and three steals against East Central. Midwestern State outrebounded East Central, 48-36, including 24 offensive rebounds that led to 27 second-chance points.
