WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Senior guard Briley Moon played a full 40 minutes and scored 30 points as Southeastern Oklahoma defeated Midwestern State in the Ashbrook Classic at D.L. Ligon Colisuem on Friday night, 71-65.
How It Happened >>>
Midwestern State took an early 12-6 lead in the first quarter after Sheridan Bostic hit a 3-pointer for the Mustangs, but the Savage Storm scored the final five points first quarter and trailed by only one entering the second period, 12-11.
Southeastern held Midwestern State without a field goal for the final 6:07 of the second quarter and led 29-22 at halftime. MSU was 2-of-12 from the field in the second quarter.
Moon scored 17 of her 30 points in the second half, and Grace Alverson was 3 of 5 from 3-point range in the second half, when she scored all nine of her points.
Southeastern outscored Midwestern State in the paint, 32-22, and hit 17 of 22 free throws in the victory. Midwestern State was 15 of 26 from the foul line.
