SHAWNEE, Okla. -- Midwestern State made more strides while raising the bar on several program records in the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Hurt Complex.
 
Sophomores Asia Robertson, Aaryanna Williams and Taylor Carr teamed with freshman Shakiah Randall to set a new program mark in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 48.14. The old mark of 51.33 was previously set in 1989.
 
Sophomore Peyton Lewis continued to stake her claim on the program marks for jumpers. The Garland native leaped 16 feet, 11.25 inches to overtake Denise Leviston's mark of 16 feet, 11 inches set in 1993.
 
Lewis, who took fourth at the meet in both of her field events, delivered a triple jump of 34 feet and 8.25 inches -- just shy of her program best mark of 35 feet, 4.5 inches set last week at the West Texas A&M Spring Break Classic.
 
Meanwhile, the Mustangs claimed a pair of events wins.
 
Senior Katie Till claimed a win in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:21.24, while taking sixth in the 400 clocking a 1:03.33. Till finished just ahead of senior Gemma Gonzalez (1:03.36/7th) and freshman Brayleigh McGill (1:07.08/13th) in the quarter.
 
Sophomore Elizabeth Butzke was the first to cross the finish line in her first competition in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:28.83.
 
Gonzalez paced the Mustangs' effort in the 1,500-meter run finishing fifth with a time of 5:03.76, while sophomore Alexandra Feller (5:04.89) and McGill finished sixth and eighth, respectively.
 
Feller turned in a personal best time of 19:43.60 in the 5,000-meter run, while sophomore Christyn Smith was third with a time of 20:27.68 followed by senior Delaney Locke (20:28.91/4th), senior Michelle Estrada (20:31.92/5th), junior Victoria Rosas (21:10.17/7th) and senior Katy Pfile (22:51.60/15th).
 
Senior Amerhyst Woolf paced fifth in the fast section of the 5,000-meter run Friday night with a time of 18:41.32.
 
The Midwestern State sprinters posted a strong day, but were pushed along by a strong tail winds of at least +4.4 on the anemometer.
 
Still, Randall placed third in the 200-meter dash with a wind-aided time of 25.89 followed by Carr (26.12/6th), Robertson (26.33/8th), Sydni Lewis (26.39/9th), Williams (26.92/16th), Kierra Hicks (27.37/22nd), Peyton Lewis (27.88/27th), Gonzalez (28.21/30th) and Paitlyn Davis (28.58/33rd).
 
Carr led the Mustangs in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.67 to finish 12th trailed by Williams (12.85/13th), Hicks (13.02/17th) and Davis (13.12/18th).
 
Randall, Sydni Lewis, Till and Robertson claimed fourth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:18.03.
 
Freshman Emily Hurst matched her PR of 4 feet and 9.75 inches to finish third in the high jump, while freshman Ilana Anderson took sixth in the hammer throw (116-4) and 13th in the shot put (28-7.5).
 
Midwestern State competes in the David Noble Relays hosted by Angelo State on April 2 at LeGrand Stadium in San Angelo.
