DUNCAN, Okla. -- The top of the lineup continued to sparkle for Midwestern State in The Hrnciar Invitational Tuesday afternoon at The Territory Golf Club.

Jake Doggett and Jake Leatherwood put in another Top 10 performance by tying for third place, while Garrett Leek finished 12th.

The trio propelled the Mustangs to a third-place team showing as MSU tallied totals of 298, 294 and 303 for a 31-over 895 to finish behind Oklahoma Christian (294-289-293 876/+12) and Texas A&M-Commerce (300-285-304 889/+25).

"We got off to a great start with the wind blowing hard," MSU coach Jeff Ray said. "We never really got any momentum going. We just looked a little mentally tired and need a little break here."

Doggett logged his ninth consecutive Top 10 performance carding scores of 73, 74 and 73 for a 4-over total of 220 to finish in a tie for third place with Leatherwood, who marked a 71, 72 and 77.

The duo finished five strokes behind individual medalist Tripp Wallace of Texas A&M-Commerce. Wallace hung on for the win with a final round 77 after marking superb scores of 69 and 68 on opening day. He finished with a 2-under total of 214 to edge out Oklahoma Christian's Mateo Pulcini (75-70-72 217/+1) and Cameron's Hamish Murray (73-71-75 219/+3).

Leek (74-74-75) placed 12th with a 7-over total of 223, while senior Keiton Hoster (82-74-78 234/+20) and freshman Ryan Hailey (80-77-78 235/+21) tied for 36th and 41st, respectively, for Midwestern State's top team.

Junior Mason Mikeska paced the second team by finishing tied for 22nd with a 13-over total of 229 firing scores of 78, 77 and 74, while sophomore Tyler Kenyon (78-75-79 232/+16) tied for 31st.

Sophomores Ethen Wolf (75-79-80 234/+18) and J.T. Boyd (75-74-85 234/+18) tied for 36th, while Lane Garcia (78-80-77 235/+19) tied for 41st.

Overall, MSU's second tied for seventh with team totals of 306, 305 and 310 for a 57-over 921.

Sophomore Keaton Dickens enjoyed a strong showing competing as an individual medalist. The Iowa Park native tied for 26th carding scores of 77, 75 and 79 for a 15-over 231, while sophomore Ethan Sanchez (76-82-87) placed 58th with a 29-over total of 245.

"We got to play all 12 guys and got some good experience," Ray said. "I think that will help us have a great spring. The guys work really hard. This is a great group to work with."

Midwestern State closes its fall slate boasting a win, three runner-up showings and a third-place finish. The Mustangs boasted an incredible .930 team finish percentage during the fall.
