First Meeting vs. TSU
Tarleton State shot 52.0 percent from the floor, getting 24 points from McKinley Bostad and 22 points from Mackenzie Hailey as the TexAnns took down Midwestern State 80-68 on Jan. 5 in D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
 
Senior Chelcie Kizart led MSU Texas with 17 points, connecting on 4-of-6 treys. Sophomore Hannah Reynolds turned in a 15 points, nine rebound, three block effort while juniors Mica Schneider and Erin Alexander added 10 points.
 
The Mustangs gave up 23 points on 20 turnovers and shot 51.5 percent (17-of-33) from the free throw line, the second lowest of the season.
 
Second Meeting vs. TSU
Midwestern State shot a season-low 25.4 percent in a 65-50 loss to Tarleton State at Wisdom Gym on Feb. 7. Chelcie Kizart scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Mustangs while Hannah Reynolds pulled down 11 rebounds.
 
Kaylee Allen led TSU with 16 points. Mackenzie Hailey logged a double-double and had a strong all-around performance with 15 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, four steals and two assists. McKinley Bostad added 13 points and six assists.
 
Last Time Out
Hannah Reynolds logged her fourth double-double of the season, scoring 13 points and grabbing a career-best 20 rebounds with two assists and six blocks in the Mustangs 75-66 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville on March 2 at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
 
Junior Liz Cathcart continued her hot-streak, scoring in double figures for the seventh-straight game by pouring in a game-high 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting.

MSU Texas owns a 13-8 overall record in the LSC Tournament, winning the title in 2001 over Southeastern Oklahoma State and 2013 against West Texas A&M.

Johnson Gets Win No. 150
Noel Johnson recorded her 150th career win at MSU Texas on Saturday with a 72-62 win over Texas Woman's at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. After becoming the winningest coach in program history on Dec. 19, 2017 in a 72-66 win at Texas A&M-Kingsville, Johnson became the first coach with 150 wins in the Maroon and Gold.

2019 Rematch Games
Midwestern State was 3-7 in the first half of LSC play before going 6-4 in the back half of league action. The Mustangs avenged first half losses to West Texas A&M, Eastern New Mexico, Cameron and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
 
Cathcart, Reynolds Earn LSC Honors
Junior Liz Cathcart and sophomore Hannah Reynolds each garnered Honorable Mention All-Lone Star Conference accolades the league announced on Wednesday at the annual awards banquet. Reynolds picked up a spot on the LSC All-Defensive Team after leading the league in blocks.
 
Offensively Speaking
The Mustangs average 69.0 points per game, the seventh highest in the LSC on 41.2 percent shooting to boast the fourth best field goal percentage in the LSC. MSU Texas is 9-1 when scoring at least 70 points.
 
Sultans of Swat
MSU Texas leads the Lone Star Conference and ranks ninth nationally with 5.1 blocks per game. Defensively, the Maroon and Gold are holding opponents to 38.7 percent shooting from the floor this season, the fourth lowest in the LSC.
 
The Mustangs boast three of the top 11 single game team blocking performances (10 - vs. St. Mary's, 12/15/18; 9 - vs. UT Tyler, 12/19/18; 9 - vs. Texas A&M-Commerce, 1/3/19) while the 5.1 blocks per game would shatter the previous team record of 4.3 set in the 2014-15 season. MSU Texas has at least five blocks in 16 of 27 games this season.
 
The 138 blocks this season rank as the most in team history, topping the previous record of 130 set in the 2014-15 season.
 
Reynolds Keeps Climbing
Sophomore forward Hannah Reynolds continues to climb the MSU Texas all-time blocks list. The Prosper native sits in second all-time with 97 career rejections. She needs 42 blocks to pass Monica Miller's (1991-95) program record of 138.
