Midwestern State completes road trip unblemished with 5-1 victory against Southeastern Oklahoma State

THE RUNDOWN
DURANT, Okla. – No. 16 Midwestern State wrapped up its 1,111-mile road trip with a 5-1 win against No. 31-ranked Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday. The Mustangs improve to 14-4 on the season after its sixth-straight victory.
 
In doubles, MSU's two ranked doubles teams picked up strong wins to help MSU to the doubles sweep. The 23rd-ranked tandem of Alex Martinez Roca and Angel Palacios bested Matias Vargas and Milos Vuckovic, 8-4, at No. 3 to put the Mustangs on the board. The No. 30 duo of Dillon Pineda and Nolan McCaig scored an upset of 12th-ranked Carlos Anez and Ondrej Nice, 9-7, at the No. 1 line to push the advantage to 2-0. MSU completed the sweep when Vasudev Vijayaraman and Denney Norrie ousted Danrich Kruger and Sandro Lena, 8-5, at No. 2.
 
In singles, the Mustangs won two of the first three courts to finish to clinch the match. 27th-ranked Vijayaraman upset 12th-ranked Anez, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1 to put the Maroon and Gold up 4-0. For the first time in the last 15 matches, Palacios was defeated, coming one win shy of the program record of 16-straight singles victories, falling to Lena, 6-1, 6-1. Pineda completed the win for MSU, rolling to a three-set win against Nice, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 2.
 
The remaining singles matches were not played out after the match was clinched.
