FIRST SERVE: Coming off a 7-2 win over 22
nd-ranked St. Mary's, the MSU Texas men's tennis team welcomes its first top-25 foe to the MSU Tennis Center on Thursday in 13
th-ranked Southwest Baptist at 2 p.m. Following the meeting with the Bearcats, the Mustangs travel to Abilene for a pair of matches against McMurry and Hardin-Simmons on Friday. First serve is set for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.

BEATING THE BEST: Last season, MSU played 17 matches against opponents ranked in the top 50 of the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Rankings, going 9-8. Of those 17 matches, 11 came against top-25 foes, with the Mustangs going 3-8, including a 7-2 setback to 19
th-ranked Southwest Baptist on March 4, 2017. The Maroon and Gold are 1-0 in 2018 against ranked opponents after their 7-2 victory over 22
nd-ranked St. Mary's.

McCAIG EARNS WEEKLY HONOR: Freshman
Nolan McCaig took home the Lone Star Conference's first Player of the Week award in the 2018 season after several strong performances to start the year. The Modesto, Calif., native boasts a 3-1 singles record, including an upset of St. Mary's regionally-ranked Felix Hollaway. Partnered with senior
Dillon Pineda, the freshman has stormed out to a 4-0 start in pairs play and already has a top-five win under his belt after ousting third-ranked Jeremiah Gonzalez and Bojan Popovic of the Rattlers.

NO TROUBLE IN DOUBLES: The Mustangs have shown strong doubles play through the first four matches of the season, posting a 10-2 record. At the No. 2 flight, the duo of
Denney Norrie and
Vasudev Vijayaraman is a perfect 4-0.

NATIONAL SEMIFINALISTS TRAVEL TO WICHITA FALLS: 13
th-ranked Southwest Baptist enters Thursday's matchup with a 4-1 record, having won its last four matches after dropping the season-opener to Washington-St. Louis. Last season, the Bearcats advanced to the National Semifinals at the NCAA Championships before bowing out to West Florida and return six players. SBU is led by junior Sherif Abohabaga with a 4-0 record at No. 1 singles while brothers Ferenc and Gyorgy Agoston lead the Bearcats in doubles at 3-1.

BIRDS OF PREY: The DIII War Hawks host the Mustangs on Saturday in Abilene, opening the match with a 1-3 record on the spring. Last season, McMurry went 6-14. Sophomore Carlos Martinez returns after a 13-5 campaign at the No. 1 line while he and Andrew Hallowell earned a 9-10 record in doubles.

ROPING THE COWBOYS: DIII Hardin-Simmons brings a 1-5 record into Saturday's matchup after dropping three-straight in Oregon this past weekend. The Cowboys posted a 10-12 record a season ago, going 8-5 at home. Junior Alex Hunt leads the squad with an unblemished 5-0 record at the No. 1 line. HSU has struggled in doubles in 2018, going just 3-15 as a team.
