Storylines
Senior Day
Seniors Kristian Martinez, Alex Mullet and Nathan Clark play their final regular season match at Stang Park on Saturday against Oklahoma Christian. The trio of backline players have anchored the Mustangs defense for the past several seasons, winning back-to-back conference titles and advancing to the postseason every year.

Mustangs Unbeaten Run Snapped on Golden Goal
MSU Texas' unbeaten run of 35-straight matches was snapped on Oct. 13 as WT's Julio Vargas hit a golden goal in the 96th minute. The streak, which dated back to the start of the 2017 season, ended as the fourth longest in NCAA Division II history matching Southern Connecticut State's streak from Oct. 10, 1995 to Nov. 23, 1996.

Standing Shakedown
The Mustangs clinched the North Division of the Heartland Conference with their win over Rogers State on Saturday. The Maroon and Gold need four points to lock up their third-straight league crown.

Lubbock Christian and Eastern New Mexico are tied in the West Division with eight points while St. Mary's and St. Edward's are deadlocked at 12 in the South.

Home Cookin'
The Maroon and Gold are unbeaten in their last 20 matches at the friendly confines of Stang Park, dating back to 2016. Over that span, MSU Texas owns an 18-0-2 record and has outscored opponents 42-10 at home.

Both of the Mustangs setbacks this season came on the MSU Practice Soccer Field due to unplayable grass pitch conditions.

Road Warriors
The Maroon and Gold travel to their final regular season road match on Thursday to Dallas. MSU Texas is unbeaten in its last 17 road and neutral site contests, going 16-0-1.

Sharing The Wealth
MSU Texas boasts the 27th most potent offense in NCAA DII and second best in the Heartland Conference, averaging 2.53 goals per game.

The Mustangs have been balanced offensively with 15 different players combining for 37 goals this season. Additionally, 10 different players have contributed assists, including Sergio Lara, Juan Ramirez, Dylan Burke and Carlos Flores who all lead the team with three.

A huge part of the offensive success can be attributed to scoring off set pieces. MSU Texas leads the nation with 7.80 corner kicks per game.

Suffocating Defense
In 15 matches this season, the back line of the Mustangs has surrendered just 40 shots on goal in 1,383 minutes of action.

Seniors Nathan Clark and Alex Mullet, juniors Dylan Burke, Rory O'Keeffe and Koby Sapon-Amoah along with sophomore keeper Taylor Lampe are holding opponents to a 0.72 GAA and five shutouts.

Roaring Rory
Junior Rory O'Keeffe has been an ace taking penalty kicks for the Mustangs. The Glanmire, Ireland, native has sunk four PKs on the year, the third most in program history while the five PKs taken by the Maroon and Gold are tied for the second most in a single season, trailing only the six made in 2017.

Business in the Front
Senior Alex Mullet doubled his career goals total in MSU with a brace against Rogers State on Saturday. The Edmond, Okla., native has made 72 career starts, the sixth most in school history and is a combined 68-6-6 in his four year career with the Mustangs.

Lampe Leading the Country
Sophomore keeper Taylor Lampe leads all active NCAA DII players with a 0.56 career goals against average. In two seasons, Lampe ranks No. 5 in program history with 23 wins and can pass Noah Fazekas (2011, 15-16) with his next clean sheet.

Up Next
MSU Texas competes in the Heartland Conference Championship on Nov. 1-4. Opponent and location to be determined.
