Box Score RICHARDSON, Texas — Midwestern State decisively defeated Colorado Mesa, 6–1, on Saturday at the UTD Soccer Complex. The Mustangs netted four goals in the first half en route to their 13th consecutive win, dating back to last season.

Midwestern State (2-0-0) began the first half assertively, with Juan David Valencia Vacca opening the scoring in the 4th minute. The team's strong start continued as Cristopher Guevara found the net in the 8th minute, followed shortly by another goal from  Juan David Valencia Vacca, assisted by Oscar Nunez and Cooper Tea, pushing the lead to 3–0.

Despite being down a player after a red card to Davis Mays, the Mustangs sustained their offensive momentum. Italo Rodriguez extended the lead to 4–0 in the 18th minute with an assist from Ethan Krchnak and Tea. Colorado Mesa (0-1-1) responded with a goal by Richard Tabares Ochoa in the 29th minute, closing the first half at 4–1 in favor of MSU.

Midwestern State began the second half with a strong offensive push. Lawrence Doe capitalized early, netting a goal with an assist from Victor Hernandez in the 47th minute, extending the lead to 5–1. The Maroon & Gold maintained momentum as Parker Plaxco scored again in the 54th minute, further increasing the advantage to 6–1.

Defensively, the Mustangs remained resilient, with Jake Morris making key saves against CMU's attempts, including shots from Mateo Cordell and Matheo Ledesma. Despite a series of fouls and yellow cards, MSU controlled the pace and closed the match with a 6–1 lead.
