WICHITA FALLS, Texas – After collecting their first win over a top-10 program in nine seasons Wednesday, the No. 22 Midwestern State women's tennis team will look to take down a few more nationally-ranked foes next week with a five-match weekly slate in Colorado.
The Mustangs begin their busy week Sunday with a 3 p.m. (CT) match against No. 3 Saint Leo (Fla.) at the Regency Athletic Complex in Denver before taking on No. 9 Hawaii Pacific on Monday at 10 a.m. Midwestern State concludes its stay in Denver Tuesday at 3 p.m. against host and in-region foe Metro State. MSU will also take on NCAA Division I Air Force and Colorado State-Pueblo in a pair of road matches next Saturday.

– Midwestern State is coming off its first win over a top-10 team since the 2007 season following its 6-3 home win over No. 10 Southwest Baptist (Mo.) Wednesday at the MSU Tennis Center

PINEDA CAPTURES 100TH CAREER WIN

Lauren Pineda became the seventh Mustang in program history to earn career win No. 100 with a pair of victories over Colorado Mesa on Mar. 13
– Pineda is currently 102-37 for her career to rank sixth on the all-time wins list with a 41-14 singles record and 61-23 doubles mark
– Pineda comes in behind Lacey Wuthrich (138), Emilee Black (135), Brooke Gray (131), Sara Butler (129) and Marsha Meyer (111) on the MSU all-time wins list while moving in front of former teammate

A LOOK AT THE MUSTANGS
– Midwestern State comes into the week at 7-1 overall and 6-0 against NCAA Division II foes this season

– Kontaki also cracks the top 20 in the regional rankings at 17th with a 6-1 record on the season, spending a majority of her time on court three
SCOUTING THE LIONS
– Saint Leo is ranked third nationally in the Oracle/ITA Division II rankings with a 9-1 record this season
– The Lions have won seven straight coming into the weekend and will face No. 9 Hawaii Pacific today in Denver
– SLU has three players ranked in the top 25 singles rankings in Natalia Siedliska (3rd), Marine Beugre-Guyot (10th) and Isabella Robbiani (21st)
– Siedliska carries a perfect 7-0 mark at No. 1 singles this season with two wins over nationally-ranked opponents while teaming up with Anastasia Wagner for a 6-0 record at No. 1 doubles
– Robbiani is also undefeated at 9-0, primarily playing on courts two and three
– Beugre-Guyot is 8-1 this season with a 5-0 mark at No. 3 singles while Pauline Helgesson is 7-0 appearing at the bottom of the lineup for the Lions
– Chris Frusci is in his second season with the SLU tennis programs, holding a 28-7 record with the women's team

– Midwestern State and Saint Leo met for the first time in program history last season with the Lions recording a 5-2 win in Pensacola, Fla.
SCOUTING THE SHARKS
– Hawaii Pacific is 9-2 during the 2016 campaign and ranked ninth in the Oracle/ITA Division II National Rankings
– The Sharks sport two nationally-ranked singles players in Kristyna Hancarova (15th) and Nicole Hoynaski (41st)
– The duo also pair up to form the No. 4-ranked doubles team in the country while topping the West Region rankings
– Hancarova is 7-3 on the season at the No. 1 position while Hoynaski has just one defeat in dual play with an 8-1 record
– Hancarova and Hoynaski have yet to suffer a loss in doubles play this season with a perfect 10-0 mark
– Syna Kayser is also ranked in the region at 12th with a 9-1 dual match record at No. 3
– Lauren Conching is in her fifth season with the Sharks with an 89-25 career mark

– Midwestern State and Hawaii Pacific have met just twice in program history with the Sharks owning a 2-0 record
– Both meetings came in the 2014 season with HPU recording a 6-3 win in a neutral site matchup in Las Vegas and a 5-0 victory in the NCAA Round of 16 in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

– Courtney Wright is 5-6 in dual play this season, ranking 19th in the South Central Region

LINN EARNS WIN NO. 400
– Head coach
Scott Linn received a memorable win No. 400 last May when the MSU women's tennis team upset No. 12 California (Pa.) in the NCAA Sweet 16
– Linn enters his sixth season leading the MSU men's and women's tennis programs, guiding the Mustangs to a combined seven postseason appearances since taking over the programs in 2010-11
– Linn has posted an 84-38 record (.689) with the men's team while recording an 90-41 mark (.687) with the women for a combined 174-79 (.688)
– Since 1997-98, Linn has compiled a 413-258 (.615) career record in 15 seasons as a men's head coach (226-148, .604) and 12 seasons as a women's coach (187-110, .630), averaging close to 15 wins a season
– Prior to MSU, Linn served head coaching stints at Science & Arts. (Okla.), Embry-Riddle (Fla.) and Florida Southern while serving as a men's assistant coach at his alma mater, East Central (Okla.), and Indiana
