SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
- Texas Woman's had its three-game winning streak snapped by Cameron 77-65 Thursday night at Kitty Magee Arena.
- The Pioneers are playing just their third true road game of the season Sunday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. TWU won the previous two beating Puerto Rico-Bayamon (69-66) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (57-43).
- Texas Woman's is playing its third game in Wichita Falls this season afternoon opening the season with a split at the Ashbrook Classic in November. The Pioneers last 76-61 to Emporia State (Kan.) before thumping Adams State (Colo.), 79-47.
- TWU boasts the top field goal percentage defense in the LSC holding teams to a 36.8 shooting percentage.
- Sophomore forward Emily Spector leads the Pioneers in scoring averaging 11.6 points per game. She scored in double figures in 11 of TWU's first 14 games but scored fewer than 10 in each of her last two outings. The Keller native also leads the team on the glass grabbing 6.4 rebounds per game.
- Sophomore guard Kanesha Saygo ripped the nets for a season-high 20 points Thursday night against Cameron raising her scoring average to 9.7 points a game.
- Senior guard Ashley Salazar connected on a season-high four 3-pointers to finish with 15 points Thursday against Cameron. The Knippa,Texas product is third on the team averaging 9.6 points per game.
- Senior forward Ria Pateraki averages 7.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, but played just three minutes Thursday night against Cameron.
- Sophomore forward Erin Maxwell averaged 10 points and 12 rebounds making her first two starts of the season the last two times out. The 6-3 transfer from Abilene Christian ranks second in the LSC swatting 1.8 blocks per game.
- Beth Jillson boasts a 111-100 mark (.526) in her eighth season at the helm of the women's basketball program at Texas Woman's University.

- Midwestern State meets Texas Woman's for the 55th time on the hardwood Sunday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- MSU holds a 34-20 edge in the all-time series which dates back to the 1975-76 season.

MUSTANGS NOTEBOOK
- Midwestern State had its 12-game winning streak snapped with a 61-56 loss at Tarleton State on Wednesday night.
- The loss was the first since the Mustangs fell 62-51 to Emporia State (Kan.) on Nov. 15 at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
- The winning streak was the second longest in program history trailing only the 15-game winning streak set by the 1993-94 squad on the way to an NAIA National Tournament appearance.
- The Mustangs matched the best start through 15 games in program history joining the 1989-90 which started the season with a 14-2 mark.
- Midwestern State continues to boast the best scoring defense in the LSC limiting opponents to 58.9 points per game.

Janae McJunkins (Wagoner, Okla. / Wagoner HS (Murray State)) netted a season-high 10 points on 2-of-3 shooting from the field while going a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe Wednesday night at Tarleton State.

Shambreka Jones (Mesquite, Texas / Poteet HS (Charleston Southern)) had her six-game streak of scoring in double figures snapped Wednesday at Tarleton State, but still managed seven points to go along with a team-high 10 rebounds.

Jones also blocked two shots against the TexAnns and continues to lead the LSC with 2.1 swats per game. The 31 blocks on the 10th most in a single season in school history.

Lisa Hampton (Kennedale, Texas / Nolan Catholic HS) knocked down her 121st career 3-pointer Wednesday night at Tarleton State and remains third on MSU's all-time made 3-pointers list trailing only Andrea Buben (132 3s from 2006-10) and Kristin Ramsey (125 3s from 2000-04).

Noel Johnson is in her seventh season at the helm of the Midwestern State basketball program.
- Johnson boasts a 103-79 record (.566) while leading the Mustangs to the NCAA Division II postseason in each of the last two seasons including a trip to the South Central Region finals in 2013.
- Johnson reached milestone victory No. 100 with a 61-47 win over Texas Woman's University on Jan. 1, 2015 in Denton.
- Midwestern claimed its first NCAA postseason tournament wins taking down Tarleton State and Metro State (Colo.) in 2013 before falling to No. 4 Colorado Mesa in the regional final.
- Johnson led the Mustangs to its first Lone Star Conference championship in 12 seasons claiming the 2012-13 title.
- Johnson garnered Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2012 before earning Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' Small College Coach of the Year accolades in 2013.
