WACO, Texas — Baylor's one-two sophomore punch of Khadijah Cave and Alexis Prince paced the 7th-ranked Lady Bears to a 99-56 exhibition win over Midwestern State Tuesday night at Farrell Center.

Cave, a 6-2 sophomore post from Augusta, Ga., poured in a game-high 26 points and pulled down 18 rebounds while Prince returned from a season lost to injury with 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting.

"We thought we were blocking out and making the all the hustle plays," MSU coach Noel Johnson. "At that size and athleticism, it takes a very special block out to get the job done."

The loss didn't spoil the Homecoming for senior Dianna Jones and Shatoia Gober, who both graduated from local Midway High School near Waco.

Jones finished with a team-high 17 points with 11 coming at the free throw line, while Gober finished with an all-around performance of 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Baylor scored the first eight points of the game and stretched the lead to 53-26 at the half and played just eight players during the game.

Junior point guard Niya Johnson, an All-Big 12 honorable mention last season, tallied 11 points and dished out 15 assists to go along with seven rebounds while true freshman Kristy Wallace had 13 points and five assists in her first collegiate action.

MSU senior guard Lisa Hampton knocked down a pair of 3-pointers for six points, while senior Andrea Carter finished with six points and five rebounds.

"The girls showed a lot of fire tonight," Johnson said. "I look forward to seeing what we can do heading into the season."

Midwestern State opens regular season play on Friday, Nov. 14 against Adams State (Colo.) as part of the Comfort Inn presents the Ashbrook Classic at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
