WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State placed six players in double figures in a 98-57 rout of Dallas Christian Saturday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The win clinched the best start in school history for the Mustangs, who improved to 13-0 on the season.
Senior guard
Craig Green continued his stretch by leading MSU with 19 points and pulled in seven rebounds which included a season-high three 3-pointers.
The Mustangs made quick work of the Crusaders as they pulled out to a 19-3 lead when Green canned his first triple of the game for the right wing with 11:19 to go in the first half.
Junior forward
Charlie Logan stepped for his second start of the season to make five highlight reel dunks on his way to a campaign-best 14 points to match starting guard
Chris Hagan and
Jason Ebie.
Senior forward
Chris Williams added his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in just 12 minutes off of the bench, while
Adrian Van Buren connected on each of his eight free throws to finish with 10 points.
Christian Lawyer scored 18 points to lead the Crusaders, who dropped to 2-19.
Midwestern State continues Lone Star Conference crossover play Thursday night at Texas A&M-Commerce. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. or 25 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game which tips at 6.
Notables
* Midwestern State extended its home court and regular season winning streaks to 19-0. The regular season winning streak is also the longest in school history.
* The Mustangs' 13-0 start bettered the previous best start of 12-straight wins at the start of the 1973-74 campaign.
* MSU placed six players in double figures for the first time since the last time they faced Dallas Christian on Nov. 18, 2006.
