DURANT, Okla. – Midwestern State breathed extra lives into Southeastern Oklahoma State Friday afternoon in Game 2.
And the No. 8 Savage Storm capitalized with three unearned runs on five Midwestern State errors to down the Mustangs 4-2 at the SOSU Softball Field.

Tabitha Yannetti, then scored on a wild pitch to give SOSU a 2-0 lead in the third inning.
SOSU drew first blood in the first inning when Marjorie Johnson's double to the right-field gap scored Rachel Lynn.
The Mustangs knotted the contest in the fourth inning when they scratched for two runs on four hits keyed by run-scoring singles by
Amanda Potysman and
Ashley Kuchenski.

Becca Wessels extended the fifth for SOSU shortstop Bailey Mathes, who took Kuchenski's first pitch over the right-field fence to give SOSU a 4-2 lead in the fifth.
SOSU added three more runs in the sixth.
Kuchenski took the loss for the Mustangs to fall to 5-7, allowing seven runs – four earned – on nine hits.
SOSU starter Jami McAdoo improved 18-3 while allowing two runs on seven hits. She struck out three and walked one.
Yannetti extended her consecutive hits streak to six straight as she and
Amanda Potysman had two hits each to pace a seven-hit MSU attack.
Midwestern State dropped to 29-18 on the season and 10-8 in the Lone Star Conference North Division, while the Savage Storm surged to 39-7 and 12-2.
The teams conclude the four-game series Saturday afternoon at Mustangs Park. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
