WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State's
Katie Petersen won her 10th consecutive as the Mustangs took advantage of five Texas Woman's University errors to claim an 8-0 win in a five inning run-rule in Game 1 Wednesday afternoon at Mustangs Park.
Petersen weaved a six-hit shutout to improve to 11-2 on the season while striking out six.
The win was also MSU's fifth-straight and improved the Mustangs to 15-9 on the season. MSU is yet to lose in its five games in its new home digs.
The Mustangs sent 13 batters to the plate in an eight-run fourth inning as they legged out just three hits as the Pioneers imploded with five errors.

Maranda Bishop delivered the inning's biggest blow with a basing clearing, three-run double while
Amanda Potysman,
Tabitha Yannetti and
Ashley Kuchenski each added an RBI in the inning.
Allie Packer took the loss for the Pioneers despite not allowing an earned as the sophomore right-hander allowed four hits while striking out four and walking two in four innings.
Senior shortstop Rachel Johnson paced TWU by going 2-for-2 at the plate.
