WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Seven different players found the end zone for Midwestern State as the No. 23 Mustangs rolled to a 73-6 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.
Midwestern State quarterback
Daniel Polk led a 426-yard ground attack with a 11th career 100-yard performance. Polk would finish with 113 yards on nine carries including scoring runs 13 and 57 yards.
Polk also completed 11-of-20 passes for 140 more yards and a pair of TD tosses to
DelJuan Lee and
Cody Thompson.
Marcus Mathis added a 35-yard scoring burst and finished with 99 yards on 13 carries, while B.J. Mathis (11 carries, 71 yards) and
Steven Harper (nine carries, 70 yards) had a pair of touchdowns each.
Adrion Butler accounted for the other MSU score with a 15-yard run in the third quarter.
The loss was the worst in storied Texas A&M-Kingsville history and the 73 points was the also most ever allowed by a Javelina squad.
