WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 6-ranked Midwestern State (6-0-2) extended its winning streak to four games with two victories in Salem, Oregon, this past week. The Mustangs slipped past Western Oregon, 1-0, and defeated Simon Fraser, 4-1. Parker Plaxco was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, and Jake Morris was recognized as the LSC Goalkeeper of the Week.

Plaxco scored his fourth goal in the last three games to open the scoring against the Red Leafs after scoring his second game-winning goal of the season in the victory over Western Oregon. Plaxco, a senior forward from Stephenville, Texas, took only two shots on the road trip and scored a goal both times. 

Morris played all 180 minutes in the Pacific Wonderland. In the two games combined, Morris made six saves. He recorded his second clean sheet of the season against the Wolves and conceded just one goal in the 73rd minute against Simon Fraser, which scored off a corner kick after falling behind, 3-0.

Midwestern State has a 19-game unbeaten streak, dating back to last season, and visits St. Edward's on Wednesday night to open conference play. The Mustangs are home for a noon kickoff against Texas A&M International at Stang Park on Saturday.
