LAWTON, Okla. — No. 21 Midwestern State fell to No. 34 Cameron 4-3 on Friday at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex. Midwestern State secured singles victories at the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 positions but could not overcome Cameron's doubles performance.
Midwestern State fell short in the doubles point as Cameron secured victories at No. 3 doubles and No. 2 doubles. Cameron's Tom Debonne and Zoheir Fardoun defeated
Jack Franklin and
Jose Marquez, 6-2, at No. 3 doubles. This was followed by Santiago Ledesma and Abubakari Yakubu-Lea's 6-3 win over
Matthew Earle and
Germano Setti at No. 2 doubles. The Mustangs managed a win at No. 1 doubles as Juan Duque and
Bruno Sanchez topped Lukas Janousek and Noe Milliard, 6-2.
In singles action, Cameron extended its lead with a win at No. 1 singles, where 6th ranked Lukas Janousek defeated #14
Germano Setti, 6-4, 6-1. MSU responded with a victory at No. 2 singles, as #52
Bruno Sanchez overcame Noe Milliard, 6-3, 6-4, leveling the dual match score at 2-1. Cameron regained the lead at No. 4 singles with Santiago Ledesma's three-set win over #53

Juan Duque, delivered a straight-set victory at No. 4 singles, defeating Abubakari Yakubu-Lea, 6-3, 6-4, once again tying the dual match score at 3-3. However, Cameron clinched the overall victory at No. 5 singles as Martin Hlavacek secured a 6-2, 6-3 win over
Tomas Leguizamon. The Maroon & Gold's Cesar Llamas closed the match with a win at No. 6 singles, defeating Lukas Holub, 6-2, 6-3, resulting in a final dual score of 4-3 in favor of Cameron.
