Extreme wind in weather forecast prompts schedule change in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas – Midwestern State and Lubbock Christian are moving their scheduled doubleheader to Saturday at Maner Park. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The twin bill was originally scheduled for Sunday, but the weather forecast is calling for 20-30 mph winds out of the north and could occasionally gust over 40 mph, prompting a Red Flag Warning for the region.

Saturday should be a warm day with a near-record high temperature of 91 degrees under mostly sunny skies with westerly winds at 10-20 mph.

The Mustangs return home for the first time in 26 days on March 20, when Eastern New Mexico visits Mustangs Park for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
