DENTON, Texas – Midwestern State takes on No. 3-ranked Texas Woman's at Kitty Magee Arena on Thursday night at 6 p.m.
Midwestern State (4-10, 1-7) has a five-game losing streak after a 78-65 setback against No. 7-ranked West Texas A&M at D.L. Ligon Coliseum on Saturday.
Kerbie Cash scored 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting and had four of the six steals for the Mustangs, who had three players score in double figures.
Calyssa Sevier scored 14 points, and
Carisa Cortez added 10 points.
Macie Upshaw was the leading rebounder with 11 boards, including three offensive rebounds.
Cash is the sixth-leading scorer in the Lone Star Conference with 15.8 points per game, and she is fourth in the conference with 7.5 rebounds per game. Upshaw is eighth in the league with 7.1 rebounds per game.
The Mustangs are second in the league with 40.3 rebounds per game and leads the conference with 16.6 offensive rebounds per game, which is 13th most in the nation.
Midwestern State is forcing 21.4 turnovers per game, which is fourth in the league, and its plus-5.9 turnover margin is third in the LSC and 17th in the nation.
Cash is averaging 2.1 steals, and

The Pioneers have a 14-game winning streak and are 6-1 at home this season. Their only loss came in the DII CCA Tip-Off Classic as Harding — currently ranked No. 12 in the nation— posted a 75-69 victory at Kitty Magee Arena.
Texas Woman's is coming off a 78-69 victory at St. Edward's, dominating the paint against the Hilltoppers. TWU outscored St. Edward's in the paint, 34-14, and won the rebounding battle, 35-25, including 14 offensive rebounds that led to 15 second-chance points.
TWU is the third-highest scoring team in the conference with 73.1 points per game and boasts the second-best scoring defense in the league, allowing opponents to score just 56 points per game. The plus-17.1 scoring margin is second best in the LSC and 13th in the nation.
The Pioneers are the best shooting team in the conference, hitting on 46.6 percent of their shots, and they have the fourth-best field goal percentage defense in the league, holding opponents to 36.3 percent shooting from the field.
Averee Kleinhans, a senior from Nocona, Texas, is the leading scorer for TWU and third in the conference with 17.2 points per game.
Gabby Elliott is fifth in the league with 16.8 points per game, and the senior from San Antonio is the reigning LSC Offensive Player of the Week. Kleinhans and Kayla Glover are both among the top five in the LSC in assists. Kleinhans is dishing out 3.7 assists per game, and Glover is averaging 3.3 assists per game.
TWU is fourth in the league with 3.6 blocks per game, and Elliott is third in the LSC with two blocks per game for the Pioneers.
