TYLER, Texas – Midwestern State has seven singles players and three doubles teams competing in the 2025 ITA DII Women's South Central Regional at Summers Tennis Center and Tyler Junior College.
The tournament winners earn automatic entry into the ITA Cup next month. The field in Rome, Georgia will feature 16 singles players and 16 doubles teams. Eight regional champions receive an automatic berth with eight players and teams selected at-large.
Graduate student
Selin Sepken, a transfer from Idaho, is the No. 10 seed in the 64-player singles draw. Sepken was 2-0 in singles at Idaho and also finished with a 2-0 record in doubles for the Vandals. The native of Istanbul, Turkey, played No. 5 and No. 6 singles in two duals for Idaho last spring and did not lose a game in four sets of singles against Lewis-Clark State College and Weber State.
Sepken faces Anna Deuringer of Cameron in the first round and would meet either Hannah Quick of Lubbock Christian or Sophia Rashid of UT Permian Basin in the second round.
Sophomore
Camila Garcia is the No. 13 seed in the draw and will battle Hannah Nagpall of Texas A&M-Kingsville in the opening round. Garcia was 11-6 for the NCAA Division II semifinalist last spring, playing exclusively at No. 5 singles. The native of Cali, Colombia, would face either Margot Aebischer of Colorado State-Pueblo or Gia Posito of St. Mary's in the second round.
Junior
Hattie Berend, a native of Wichita Falls and a transfer from Southwestern, drew the No. 1 seed in the first round and will tangle with Yona Bancarel of UT Tyler. The next highest seed in her section of the draw is No. 14 Lilly Isabelle Muraske of Texas A&M-Kingsville, who she would not face until the round of 16.
Berend played in two doubles matches last spring but missed the rest of the season due to injury. She is paired with Sepken in doubles for the ITA DII Women's South Central Regional, and they are the No. 5-seeded duo.
Sierra Rodgers, a sophomore from the Bahamas, transferred to MSU from Mercyhurst and meets 15th-seeded Maya Donkor of the Texas A&M-Kingsville in the first round.
Jasmine Crain, a freshman from Edmond, Oklahoma, drew No. 9-seed Alessia Karol Terlizzi of St. Mary's in the first round.
Freshman
Emilia Gyorgy from Hungary will battle Isabella Quintero of Cameron in the opening round and could potentially face 11th-seeded Suryanshi Suryanshi of St. Mary's in the second round.
Gyorgy is playing alongside Garcia as the No. 4 seed in the doubles' competition.
Sophomore
Alessia Dolce, who was 5-1 at No. 6 singles for the Mustangs last spring, encounters No. 4-seed Natalia Gorzny of UT Tyler in the first round. The Italian would face either Sofia Valero of Lubbock Christian or Annika Andersson Gomez of Texas A&M-Kingsville in the second round.
Dolce and Crain are paired together in doubles and could face the second-seeded pairing of Axelle Jacquemin and Andrea De Bernado of Lubbock Christian in the second round. In the first round, Dolce and Crain square off with Nagpall and Emma Halvarsson of TexasA&M-Kingsville in the first round.
