WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Midwestern State women's cross country team claimed first place at the Mustang Derby, led by senior
Ella Pando's second-place finish with a time of 14:32.6.
Midwestern State claimed first place at the Mustang Derby, outpacing all competition with a commanding team total of 26 points. MSU bested a pair of Lone Star Confernece opponents, besting Cameron (3rd, 59) and UT Dallas (4th, 127). Senior Pando led the charge, finishing second overall with a time of 14:32.6. Sophomore

Jadyn Dangerfield followed closely, securing fourth and fifth place with times of 14:44.8 and 14:45.9, respectively. Freshman
Konnar McClendon rounded out the top six with a time of 14:52.3, contributing significantly to the team's success.

Rosalene Reyes Perez finished ninth, clocking in at 15:00.0. Junior
Lula Nolen and junior
Perla Flores also had solid performances, placing 12th and 13th with times of 15:20.7 and 15:22.0, respectively. The team's overall time of 1:13:56 highlighted their strong showing, solidifying their top standing out of eight teams in the competition.
MSU will have a two weeks to recover before heading to the Oklahoma Stat Cowboy Jamboree on Friday, Sept. 26. The 6K course at the Greiner Family Cross Country Course is expected to begin at 8:15 a.m.
