WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State's
Jessica Binzari led the Mustangs to consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II semifinals over the past two seasons.
The senior from Constanta, Romania, was rewarded for her stellar play by earning All-America honors for her singles play by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday.
Binzari finished the season ranked sixth in the organization's final D2 national singles rankings to become the seventh overall All American in program history and the third student-athlete to earn the honor for singles play.
She joins Maddy Coffman (2018) and current teammate
Anda Ghinga, who earned top accolades last season.
Binzari rolled to a 29-7 overall mark which included winning the ITA South Central Region singles title last fall to earn a berth to ITA Cup play. She also posted an 18-6 mark during the dual season with four wins over nationally ranked opposition.
Binzari closed out a stellar collegiate career which included two years at Coker College in South Carolina before transferring to MSU prior to the 2024 season. She finished with 108 combined inlcuding a 63-24 mark in single play with all but three of the matches coming at No. 1.
As a team, the Mustangs closed the campaigned ranked in the Top 10 for the second straight season, improving from seventh in 2024 to No. 3 this season. MSU posted combined record of 45-9 over the past two campaigns which are the most wins over any two-year run in program history.
Sophomore
Sofia Giraldo ranked 34th in the final ITA singles rankings, while senior
Hannah Yip was 52nd.
Binzari also teamed with Ghinga to post an overall 21-11 mark in doubles play, finishing the campaign ranked 18th.
