BEAUMONT, Texas -- Midwestern State placed three individuals in the Top 10 on the way to its third consecutive runner-up finish in the Lamar Cardinal Challenge Tuesday afternoon at the Beaumont Country Club.

Senior Makenna Henry carded a final round, 4-over 76 to tie for third with a 54-hole, 7-over total of 223. The Sour Lake, Texas, native carded scores of 74 and 73 in the opening two rounds. It was fourth consecutive Top-10 individual showing.

Fellow senior Brecklyn Flanagan (75-76-76) tied for sixth with an 11-over total of 227, while junior Alli Reily (74-77-77) logged a 12-over 228 to tie for 12th.

Junior Kodi Nolen (78-81-76) tied for 18th with a 19-over total of 235, while freshman Mary Kerr (80-83-77) tied for 22nd with a 24-over total of 240.

Madison Wert enjoyed her best finish of the season, competing as an individual only. The sophomore from Roanoke, Texas, followed a season low 73 in the opening round with scores of 80 and 79 to tie for 14th with a 16-over tally of 232.

Overall, the Mustangs carded team totals of 301, 307, and 305 to finish second with a 49-over total of 913, placing behind team titlist Texas State (882/+18).

Texas State's Yvonne Chamness claimed top individual honors after carding scores of 72, 72, and 74 for a 2-over total of 218 to win by two strokes over teammate Miren Ontanon.

Midwestern State competes in the Lone Star Conference Championships from April 21-23 at the Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.
