ROCKWALL, Texas -- Midwestern State's
Alli Reily and
Mary Kerr were recognized to the Lone Star Conference All-LSC Second Team during Sunday evenings banquet preceding the league's championship tournament.
Reily lands on the LSC All-Conference Second Team for the third consecutive season, leading the team with 66 birdies and the lowest scoring average this season (75.16). The senior became the all-time leader in career birdies in program history earlier in the season, with 261 birdies across their MSU career.
This season, Reily holds No. 83 ranking, based on the Clipped Scoreboard national rankings. A native of Pottsboro, Texas, Reily has posted a pair of top-3 finishes this season, leading the Mustangs lineup at three separate tournaments. During the opening round of the WT Invitational, Reily carded a season best 68, leading to a two-under par tournament to take 6
th place, as the team finished 2
nd.
Meanwhile, Kerr earns her first all-conference accolade from the LSC after a breakout sophomore campaign. Kerr's four rounds of par or better this season is second on the team, leading the team with three tournament finishes in the top-5. Kerr is playing her best golf going into the conference tournament, finishing runner-up at the Hardscrabble Invitational (Mar. 23-24), helping capture a team win, and most recently winning the individual title at the Lamar Cardinal Challenge (Mar. 30-31) helping the team to a tournament victory. Kerr has raced up the Clipped Scoreboard national rankings this season, with their No. 63 ranking leading MSU.
A Friendswood, Texas native, Kerr has been the Mustangs top finisher in four of the Mustangs nine tournament they have entered this season. The sophomore opened the season with a 5
th place finish at the DBU classic shooting 2-under par over 36 holes, while with their best 54-hole tournament performance coming at the Lamar Cardinal Classic. Kerr led the field shooting 73-73-76, finishing +6 over par, winning their first career individual tournament.
Midwestern State opens play in the Lone Star Conference Championship Monday at the Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club. The first of two rounds of play begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
