WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Northwestern Oklahoma State used a five-run fifth inning to pull away from Midwestern State for a 10-2 victory in the Mustang Round Up at Mustangs Park on Saturday morning.
Sophomore Addison Lindemann (1-2) started in the circle for Midwestern State (1-5) and took the loss. Junior Sydney Gonzales threw one scoreless inning out of the bullpen for the Mustangs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mustangs got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Midwestern State got an RBI single from junior Megan Ayala, scoring senior Camile Nunez from second base.
The Rangers then rallied to score 10 runs and take a 10-1 lead before the Mustangs got back on the board in the fifth. Midwestern State scored once on a run-scoring single off the bat of freshman Jaycee Yezak, which narrowed the Rangers lead to 10-2.
