LSC Announces Women's Soccer Tournament Bracket; Mustangs Earn No. 2 Seed

The Mustangs will play Monday, Nov. 10 at Stang Park, facing the winner of (7) Lubbock Christian vs (8) St. Edward's

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- The eight-team field has been announced for the 2025 Lone Star Conference Women's Soccer Championship, which will be held Friday, Nov. 7 (first round), Monday, Nov. 10 (quarterfinals), Thursday, Nov. 13 (semifinals) and Sunday, Nov. 16 (final). Punching its tickets are DBU, Midwestern State, Texas Woman's, Angelo State, UT Tyler, St. Mary's, Lubbock Christian and St. Edward's
 
DBU is the top seed and earned a bye into the semifinals, as well as the right to host the semifinals and championship match at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas. The Patriots (16-1 overall, 12-1 LSC) claimed their sixth LSC regular season championship in the past seven years with 2.77 points per match in the standings. DBU, which has won the conference tournament three times and reached the title match last year, leads the league with a 3.647 scoring average and .29 opponents' average. The Patriots are the No. 1 ranked team in the country in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll.
 
MSU (10-1-6, 10-0-4 LSC) is the No. 2 seed with 2.43 points per match. The Mustangs are the only team to beat DBU this season, taking down the Patriots 2-0 on the road in the regular season finale. MSU, which has gone unbeaten in 15 straight matches, won the LSC tournament in 2013 and 2016.
 
The No. 3 seed is TWU (13-2-3, 9-2-3 LSC) with 2.14 points per match. The Pioneers have won four straight games.
 
The No. 4 seed is defending conference tournament champion ASU (9-4-5, 8-3-3 LSC) with 1.93 points per match. The Rambelles also won the event in 2018 and 2021.
 
MSU, TWU and ASU all earned the right to host a quarterfinal match.
 
UTT (10-2-5, 7-2-5 LSC, 1.86 ppm) is the No. 5 seed, followed by No. 6 seed StMU (9-5-3, 8-4-2 LSC, 1.86 ppm), No. 7 seed LCU (8-7-2, 6-5-2 LSC, 1.54 ppm) and No. 8 seed SEU (7-9-2, 6-6-2 LSC, 1.43 ppm). UTT had the edge over StMU using the LSC's tiebreaker policy.
 
LCU will host the lone first round match against SEU on Friday at 7 p.m. CT. The winner will advance to Monday's quarterfinals to face MSU in Wichita Falls, Texas. The other quarterfinal matchups are: StMU at TWU and UTT at ASU. All quarterfinal start times are 7 p.m. CT
 
The semifinals on Nov. 13 will feature DBU against the ASU-UTT victor at 5 p.m. CT, followed by the TWU-StMU winner against the MSU-LCU/SEU winner at 7 p.m. CT.
 
The title match is set for Sunday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. CT.

The winner of the event will be named the LSC Women's Soccer Tournament champion and earn the league's automatic qualification to the 2025 NCAA Division II Championship. The selection show is Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m. CT on NCAA.com. After the first round (Nov. 21), second round (Nov. 23), third round (Nov. 30) and quarterfinals (Dec. 6) at sites to be determined, the national semifinals (Dec. 11) and final (Dec. 13) are scheduled be at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs, Colo.
