Men's Soccer Sits 22nd In United Soccer Coaches Poll

MSU Men's Soccer dropped from 18 to 22 after a 1-1 week to open conference play.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State Men's Soccer dropped four places in most recent United Soccer Coaches (USC) Poll, being ranked 22nd in the national poll, announced the association on Tuesday afternoon.

Midwestern State tumble to No. 22 after a last second home loss to St. Edward's and a convincing road victory over Texas A&M International. MSU dropped their conference opener against St. Edward's 2-1, with the Hilltoppers scoring twice in the second half, including the winning goal with six seconds left. The Maroon & Gold rebounded with a 5-1 win over Texas A&M International. After the Dustdevils took a 1-0 lead, the Mustangs scored five times to pick up the road win.

MSU are the only Lone Star Conference team mentioned in the poll, with seven teams from Super Region IV being in the poll. The Mustangs rank third in the South Central region poll, sitting behind Fort Lewis (4-1-3) and Colorado State-Pueblo (4-0-6).

Midwestern State play at home this week against UT Tyler (Wednesday, Oct. 8, 7 p.m.), then head to Oklahoma Christian to face the Eagles in Edmond (Saturday, Oct. 11, 3 p.m.).
