WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State earned its 11th consecutive postseason berth as announced on the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Selection Show Monday night on NCAA.com.
The third-seeded Mustangs, who will make their 21st overall tournament appearance, host UT Permian Basin Monday morning in the Round of 32 at the MSU Tennis Center. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
The winner moves on to the Round of 16 played at the 2024 NCAA Division II Championship site at the Sanlando Park Tennis Center from May 20-25 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
MSU (14-9) won its head-to-head, regular season meeting against the Falcons (13-4) by claiming a 4-3 victory on April 6 at the Bush Tennis Center in Midland.
The Mustangs and Falcons meet for the second time in NCAA Division II postseason play. Midwestern rolled to a 4-0 win in the Round of 16 in 2016 at the MSU Tennis Center and has won all 13 meetings of its series against UT Permian Basin.
Midwestern State, which claimed its fifth Lone Star Conference title, is looking to advance to the NCAA Division II finals site for the first time since 2019.
UT Tyler (19-5) hosts Lubbock Christian (15-6) in the other South Central Regional.
