WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State has a three-game winning streak and has won four of its last five games after sweeping a doubleheader against Western New Mexico at Mustangs Park on Saturday afternoon. MSU won the opener, 4-2, and rallied to win the nightcap, 3-2.

GAME 1 | Western New Mexico 2, Midwestern State 4
Addison Lindemann struck out a career-high 13 batters en route to her seventh complete game of the season and improved to 5-9 with the victory over Western New Mexico. The freshman from Holliday, Texas, is 4-0 with a 0.86 ERA in her last nine appearances and has won three straight starts for the Mustangs.
Paige Gallegos provided the offensive punch with a three-run homer after
Allie Monroe doubled and Lindemann walked in the third inning. Gallegos hit her fifth home run of the season over the centerfield fence and drove in her 19th run of the season.
Camile Nunez followed Gallegos with another blast to centerfield, and the Mustangs took a 4-0 lead as the senior from Madera, California, hit her first home run of the season.
Lindemann kept the Western Mustangs off the board until the seventh inning. Ramona Fossum delivered a two-out RBI single, and Kamerynn Cordova scored an unearned run on a throwing error before Lindemann struck out Kaylee Hickman to end the game.
Lindemann, who had one of the four extra-base hits for the Mustangs with a double in the first inning, allowed six hits over seven innings in the circle and allowed just one earned run. The right-hander threw 92 of 147 pitches for strikes in the victory.
Western New Mexico left 11 runners stranded in the opening game of the three-game series.

GAME 2 | Western New Mexico 2, Midwestern State 3
Western New Mexico scored two runs on three hits in the second inning as Ramona Fossum and Ana Armijo drove in Cordova and Hickman, but Midwestern State rallied for the win and improved to 3-9 in one-run games this season.
Mikey Dominguez worked a lead-off walk in the third inning, advanced to second base a passed ball and reached third base on a throwing error.
Kayla Bryant hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield, and Dominguez scored an unearned run to put MSU on the board.
Monroe led off the sixth inning with her sixth home run of the season to tie the game, 2-2. With two outs in the inning, Nunez singled and reached third base on a throwing error.
Megan Ayala delivered an RBI double to centerfield to give Midwestern State the lead.
Zoe Isom started in the circle for MSU and lasted 4 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
Shayanne Florence relieved Isom with the bases loaded and one out in the fourth inning. Florence induced a double-play ground ball off the bat of Hannah Martinez to end the threat from WNMU.
Florence pitched 2 2/3 innings and did not allow a hit while striking out three batters. The freshman pitcher from Humble, Texas, earned her first collegiate victory and is 1-2 for the Mustangs this season.
Labraida Tenorio started in the circle and worked 5 2/3 innings for the Western Mustangs. She allowed one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks. The sophomore took the loss and fell to 2-9 for the season.
Midwestern State improved to 9-29 overall with a 7-22 conference record, while Western New Mexico suffered its 16th-straight loss and fell to 7-29. WNMU is 4-25 against LSC opponents this season.
The three-game series wraps up on Sunday with a noon start at Mustangs Park.
