ODESSA, Texas -- Midwestern State wasn't at full strength Thursday night at the UTPB Gym Complex.
But UT Permian Basin didn't appear much thought to seeing just eight Mustangs suited up.
Senior Holly Hemmeline enjoyed a record-breaking night with a game-high 18 points, while fellow senior Alexus Quaadman logged her ninth double-double to lead the Falcons to their 10th-straight win, beating Midwestern State, 73-56.
Hemmeline eclipsed 1,000 career points, while hitting four 3-pointers to become UTPB's all-time leader with 239 career triples.
Quaadman finished with 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Andreea Mancha buried three 3-pointers to also finish with 12 points.
UT Permian Basin improved to 20-3 on the season and remains one game behind of LSC leading Texas Woman's with a 15-2 league record.
Zionna Barbee paced the depleted Mustangs with a season-high 10 points off of the bench. The sophomore from Tacoma, Washington, grabbed five rebounds and made two steals.
Junior forward
Zarria Carter added nine points and five rebounds, while sophomore
Catalina Cortez connected on 3-of-8 shots with a trey to also score nine.
Senior
Makayla Coy threatened a double-double with eight points and eight rebounds.
MSU, which fell to 6-18 and 6-12, remains a game back of Texas A&M-Kingsville, Cameron, and Arkansas-Fort Smith for the eighth and final berth in next month's LSC Postseason Tournament in Frisco. All three teams are knotted at 7-11.
Midwestern State takes on Angelo State Saturday afternoon at the Junell Center in San Angelo. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
