WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State was able to play two more games during the Mustang Round-Up at Wichita Falls Softball Complex on Saturday afternoon, but inclement weather forced the cancelation of games scheduled to be played on Sunday.

Midwestern State sophomore catcher
Megan Ayala drove home freshman right fielder
Paige Gallegos with a single in the seventh inning, and that was the only run Hannah Howell allowed as she threw a complete game for Northwestern Oklahoma State in a 7-1 victory.
Senior pitcher
Kennedy Cameron (0-1) started in the circle for Midwestern State and worked 2 1/3 innings, allowing one earned run on two hits with six walks and three strikeouts. Freshman hurler
Addison Lindemann pitched the final 4 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
Kaitlyn Corn doubled to centerfield in the third inning, driving home Laney Anders with the third run of the inning as the Rangers took a 3-0 lead. Shyanna Stopp hit a two-run single in the fourth inning, spearheading another three-run frame for NWOSU.
Rachel Sherwood capped the scoring for the Rangers with an RBI triple in the sixth inning that scored Avery Clark.

Mikey Dominguez and junior left fielder
Brianna Dominguez all got base hits off Howell, who allowed one run on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Howell threw 101 pitches and got 11 outs in the air as she improved to 2-0.
Gallegos led off the seventh inning for MSU and reached on a fielding error. Shannon singled to put runners at first and second with nobody out.
Mikey Dominguez reached on a fielder's choice, putting Gallegos at third base. Ayala delivered the one-out single to shortstop that scored Gallegos.

Northwest Missouri State 4, Midwestern State 1
Allie Monroe extended her hitting streak to five games and drove in her 11th run of the season as Midwestern State scored in the first inning off Northwest Missouri State starting pitcher Hayden Simmons, but the Bearcats defeated the Mustangs, 4-1, in the second game of the day at Wichita Falls Softball Complex.
Cameron Nunez doubled to the gap in left center with one out in the first inning. Monroe fouled off three pitches before sending a 3-2 offering into left field, scoring Nunez from second base. The Mustangs stranded two runners in the first inning and trailed, 2-1.
Monroe has at least one hit in eight of nine games this season and is hitting .448 with three multi-hit games for the Mustangs.
Lauren Gray doubled home a run and later scored in the top of the first inning. Alexis Brown singled to center field in the second inning, driving in Lela Bryant to give Northwest Missouri State a 3-1 lead. The Bearcats added a run in the fifth inning as Sophie Mayhugh drove in Skylar Pieper with a single to right field.
Freshman pitcher
Elizabeth Uhl (1-2) worked the first four innings for Midwestern State and allowed one earned run on five hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Sydney Gonzales pitched the final three innings and did not allow an earned run on three hits. Gonzales walked two batters and did not record a strikeout.
Simmons (1-0) threw the first four innings for the Bearcats and allowed one run on three hits with one walk and two strikeouts. Breck Dickey threw three innings and earned the save, allowing just two hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
Midwestern State (2-7) opens conference play at Angelo State. The Mustangs play the Rambelles at 4 p.m. on Friday before a doubleheader on Saturday that begins at 1 p.m.
