CANYON, TX --The Midwestern State volleyball team lost to the West Texas A&M Buffaloes 3-1 (16-25, 19-25, 25-21, 20-25) at the WTAMU Fieldhouse on Friday night.
The loss dropped Midwestern State's record to 14-14 overall and 6-9 in LSC action.
The Mustangs were led by a double-double from Demi Stauffenberg, who registered 16 kills and 13 digs. Isabella Dickens also had 12 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Amy Dewalt chipped in with 14 digs to go with three blocks from Gabrielle Oos.

SET 1 | The Mustangs found themselves in an early hole, losing a tough first set 25-16. Midwestern State trailed by as many as nine points as West Texas A&M grabbed the advantage for good at 5-4 in a set that was knotted up three times before the Buffaloes took control.
SET 2 | Midwestern State then dropped the second set 25-19 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. Midwestern State trailed by as many as eight points as West Texas A&M grabbed the advantage for good at 13-12 in a set that was tied seven times before the Buffaloes took over the lead.
SET 3 | Midwestern State got on the board after a win in set three to make it a 2-1 match. The Mustangs won the set 25-21 powered by a solid showing on the attacking end. Midwestern State put together a .382 attack percentage with 18 kills in the set win. The Mustangs opened up a 21-16 lead in the set and coasted to victory from there.
SET 4 | Midwestern State couldn't keep the momentum and fell in set four 25-20 to drop the match. West Texas A&M grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17 and Midwestern State was never able to recover in a set that was tied eight times before the Buffaloes took over in the second half.
