HAYS, Kan. — Midwestern State defeated Regis on Saturday 3-0 at Gross Memorial Coliseum with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-15. The Mustangs displayed a strong offensive performance, recording a .398 hitting percentage for the match.
The first set commenced with Midwestern State (2-1) establishing early momentum, as it capitalized on Regis (1-3) errors to secure a 5-1 lead.
Isabella Dickens was instrumental, recording consecutive kills assisted by
Macy Scheer to extend the advantage. Regis responded to close the gap to 5-5, but the Maroon & Gold regained control with a series of points, featuring key kills from
Jaiden Wright and
TaNia Penn.
MSU sustained its lead through solid offensive execution, highlighted by a 6-2 run pushing the score to 13-10.
Ella Koch and Dickens contributed significant kills, while

The Maroon & Gold opened the third set with a decisive shift in momentum, capitalizing on an early service error by Regis to level the score at 1-1. This was followed by a series of successful plays, including a kill by Madison from an assist by Scheer. The team then forced an attack error from the Rangers, coupled with a service ace by Koch, establishing a 4-1 lead. MSU extended its advantage to 7-2 with a kill by Madison and a block by Wright.
The Mustangs maintained their momentum with key contributions from Scheer, facilitating kills for Penn and Dickens. The team surged further ahead with a series of successful plays by Wright, who contributed three consecutive kills that pushed the lead to 18-11.
