AUSTIN, Texas -- No. 12-ranked Midwestern State went unbeaten through its non-conference campaign and enters conference play with a 5-0-2 record. The Mustangs visit St. Edward's for a 3 p.m. match on Wednesday and hope to extend a four-match winning streak.

Jakob Stone posted his second clean sheet with a season-high five saves.
Stone is the reigning LSC Goalkeeper of the Week and boasts a 5-0-0 record with a goals-against average of 1.00.
Midwestern State has outscored its opponents this season, 17-8, and boasts the best goal differential in the Lone Star Conference at plus-9. The Mustangs are also leading the league with 2.43 goals per game, which 22nd-most among NCAA Division II programs.
Mere Escobar is fifth in the nation with 2.57 points per game, which is the highest point per match average in the LSC.
Escobar has seven goals and four assists to lead the conference in both categories. The senior forward is the seventh-leading goal scorer in the nation and has the fourth-most assists.
The Austin native is making his first appearance at Lewis-Chen Family Field in the conference opener.
Liam Pritchard also has four assists for the Mustangs and has set up three of the goals for Escobar.
Samuele Muroni has scored three goals, and
Eduardo Cerna has two goals for the Stangs this season.
Midwestern State has not played at St. Edward's since a 3-0 victory in 2019 and is 15-3-3 when visiting the Hilltoppers.
The Mustangs clinched the LSC regular season title with a 4-0 victory over St. Edward's last season and posted their seventh consecutive victory in the series, which MSU leads 35-6-5.
St. Edward's enters the match with a 2-3-1 record and is coming off a 5-2 win over Texas A&M International.
The Hilltoppers have scored 10 goals this season, and they have conceded 10 goals.
Arthur Souza is the leading goal scorer for St. Edward's with three this season, and Christian Mezas has scored twice. Mezas and Shunji Watanabe each have two assists.
Kaleo Francis has a goals-against average of 0.86 and a .727 save percentage in four appearances as the Hilltoppers goalkeeper.
