WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Madisen Mann hit a three-run double in the first game of a doubleheader and delivered a three-run triple in the nightcap as Midwestern State swept the twin bill from Texas Woman's at Mustangs Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Mustangs took the opener, 3-2, and won the rubber game of the three-game series, 5-4.
MSU improves to 5-28 overall with a 4-20 record in the Lone Star Conference. After winning the opener of the three-game series on Saturday, the Pioneers fell to 17-19 with an 11-16 mark in the conference.
Game 1 | Midwestern State 3, TWU 2
Zoe Isom worked seven innings in the circle and improved to 2-4 with her second complete game of the season for the Mustangs. Isom threw 137 pitches but held the Pioneers to two runs on nine hits. The sophomore from Midlothian, Texas, induced 11 ground ball outs and struck out three batters on her way to the victory.
Delaney Boley gave TWU a 1-0 lead in the third inning with an RBI single up the middle, scoring Lauren Trinh for the Pioneers.
The lead was short lived. With the bases loaded and two outs, Mann drove home

Kayla Bryant with a two-out double to put the Mustangs ahead 3-1.
Isom kept TWU off the board until the sixth inning, when Alyssa LeBlanc drove in Makana Morton with a base hit to centerfield.
Trinh led off the seventh inning with a base hit for the Pioneers but was erased when Isom got Avery Boley to ground into a double play.
Isom struck out Hannah Schnettler to end the game.

Game 2 | Midwestern State 5, TWU 4
Midwestern State overcame a 4-0 deficit by scoring five runs in the fifth inning and held on to beat LeBlanc and the Pioneers in the nightcap, 5-4.
LeBlanc threw a one-hitter on Friday and struck out 11 Mustangs en route to a 9-0 victory. LeBlanc returned to the circle for the final game of the series but took the loss, allowing five runs on eight hits. The junior threw 102 pitches and struck out 10 as she fell to 10-8 for the season.
Sydney Gonzales started in the circle for MSU and worked 3 2/3 innings. The freshman from Lenorah, Texas, worked around eight walks. She allowed two runs on two hits.
Kennedy Cameron came on in relief and struck out five Pioneers through 3 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits with three walks.
Paige Bryant opened the fifth inning with a high bouncing single to third base and later stole second base.
Kayla Bryant drove home the first run of the game for the Mustangs with a single to center.
Shimkus walked on four pitches, and Martinez reached on a base hit to the right side. With one out in the inning, Mann tripled to left field and scored on a throwing error as the Mustangs took a 5-4 lead. It was the first time this season that Midwestern State scored as many as four runs in an inning.
Cameron allowed just two hits over the final two innings and did not allow a run to score to earn the win. The junior right-hander from Longview, Texas, improved to 2-7 for the season.
The Pioneers stranded 11 runners in the final game of the series and left 29 runners on base throughout the three-game series.
