LAWTON, Okla. -- Midwestern State freshman
Allie Monroe bashed her first two collegiate home runs Saturday afternoon at McMahon Field.
Freshman
Maegan Shannon also launched the first homer of her career, while senior
Payton Griffin belted the 10 home run of her career.
But the four homers weren't enough to overcome Cameron which completed three-game sweep by taking both ends of the doubleheader beating the Mustangs 10-2 in five innings in the Game 1 and 8-7 in the finale.
Midwestern State has lost the 10 games to fall to 1-15 on the season and 0-9 in Lone Star Conference play, while Cameron improved to 9-6 and 6-3.

Allie Monroe and Maegen Shannon connected for back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning to account for Midwestern State's offense in a 10-2 loss in Game 1.
Monroe, a graduate of Lawton's MacArthur High School, belted the first pitch she saw over the center field fence for her first collegiate home run in her home town.
Shannon yanked a full count offering from CU starter Jocelyn Bright down down the left-field line as the Mustangs hit two homers in a game for the first time this season and pull MSU to within three runs at 5-2.
But the Aggies answered with a two-run homer by Ashlynn Bruce to spur a five-run fourth inning which also included run-scoring singles by Taylor Rowley, Kerris Clark, and Josie Swafford to put the game away.
Cameron also accounted for two runs in the first and three in the second.
Kylie French went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to pace Cameron's nine-hit attack as the Aggies accounted for five stolen bases including a double steal to score a run in the first.
Jocelyn Bright earned the win in the circle for the Aggies allowing two earned runs on three hits in the five-inning complete game. She registered eight strikeouts and one walk.
Sophomore starter
Taylor McKenzie took the loss for the Mustangs to fall to 0-6 allowing three earned runson three hits in 1 2/3 innings.
Junior
Jessika Roberts accounted for the Mustangs first hit of the game by reaching on an infield single in the third inning.
Game 2 | Cameron 8, Midwestern State 7
Cameron walked off an 8-7 win as pinch runner Alyssa Deanda raced to the plate on a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Josie Swafford reached on a leadoff walk before giving way to Deanda.
Kelsye Loughman laid down an attempted sacrifice bunt fielding by MSU pitcher
Sydney Gonzales, who uncorked errant through to center field allowing Deanda race home with the winning run.
The error spoiled a three-run MSU rally between the fifth sixth innings as the Mustangs tied the tied the game on two unearned runs in the top of the sixth inning after freshman
Allie Monroe laced an RBI double into the left-field to ignite the rally in the fifth inning.
The Mustangs posted starter
Zoe Isom to their largest lead of the season by way of the long ball in the top of the first.
Senior
Payton Griffin launched a two-out solo homer to to left field to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead.
Monroe followed
Sydney Shimkus' single upf the middle with a two-run blast to right field to push the lead to 3-0.
Midwestern State added a fourth run in the second as
Bailey Brenek drew a leadoff walk, stole second, then scored on
Levi Luna's single up the middle.
But the Aggies struck for two runs in the first and three runs in the second to take a 5-4 lead, then added two more in the fourth sparked by consecutive triples by Kaiden Boren and Taylor Rowley.
Griffin, Shimkus, Monroe, and Luna each accounted for two hits to lead MSU's nine-hit attack, while Rowley went 3-for-3 with a pair of triples for the Aggies.
Cameron freshman Stormee Reed earned her first collegiate win allowing one earned run on five hits over four relief innings. She recorded nine strikeouts and one walk.
Gonzales (0-3) took the loss for the Mustangs despite two strong innings of relief. She permitted one earned run on two hits.

Midwestern State welcomes Angelo State for a three-game Lone Star Conference series next weekend at Mustangs Park. The Mustangs and Rambelles play a single game Friday afternoon at 4 before finishing the series with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.
