LAWTON, Okla. -- Cameron's Josie Swafford weaved a one-hitter and the Aggies used a pair of big innings to take the Lone Star Conference series opener, 7-0, over Midwestern State Saturday afternoon at McMahon Field.
The Mustangs (1-13, 0-7 in the LSC) were limited to one hit for the fourth time this season which came on a bunt single by
Paige Bryant in the first inning, but she was wiped off of the bases after she was thrown out attempting to steal second base.
Swofford restricted MSU to three baserunners while improving to 3-4 in circle. The senior from Wellston, Oklahoma recorded eight strikeouts and issued a leadoff walk to
Kayla Bryant to lead off the fifth, but struck out the next two batters and induced
Sydney Shimkus to pop up to short stop to strand the runner.

Grace Martinez was thrown out attempting to advancing on a pitch in the dirt.
Cameron jumped out to a 2-0 lead ignited by Kylie French's run-scoring single ot left in the first inning.
The Aggies erupted for five more runs in the fifth inning spurred by sophomore catcher Kaiden Boren's two-run homer over the left-center field fence.
Swafford and Taylor Rowley tacked on run-scoring doubles to extend Cameron's lead to seven runs.
Kennedy Cameron took the loss for the Mustangs to fall to 1-4. The junior from Longview surrendered five earned run on six hits in four innings. She issue five walks and recorded three strikeouts.

Sydney Gonzales allowed one run on two hits in two innings of relief.
Midwestern State and Cameron wrap up the series with a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at McMahon Field. First pitches are slated for noon and 2 p.m.
