DURANT, Oklahoma -- Southeastern Oklahoma State bridged the end of the first half to the start of the second half by scoring 22 consecutive points on the way to a 77-62 win over Midwestern State Saturday afternoon at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
The Savage Storm (3-1) sent the Mustangs to their third loss from the start of the season.
Midwestern State looks to rebound Tuesday afternoon against Oklahoma Baptist. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Noble Complex in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
The Mustangs took early control against SOSU, pushing out to a 34-16 lead on a
Kyla Speights' 3-pointer with 3:18 to play in the first half.
MSU senior
Kertisa Amos scored 13 of her team-high 19 points in the opening half as the Mustangs shot 43.8 percent from the field, but the Savage Storm flipped the script in the second half.
The 22-0 run helped Southeastern out-score the Mustangs 30-5 in the third period. The Savage Storm led by as many as 18 points down the stretch as SOSU shot 56 percent from the field in the second and controlled a 23-15 edge on the glass.
Juniors Caitlin Kobiske (26 points, 11 rebounds) and Holli Lindley (23 points, 10 rebounds) turned in double-doubles to lead the Savage Storm.
Midwestern State junior
Zarria Carter booked 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while junior
Nikki Green buired two 3-pointers to match a season high with 10 points.
Freshman
Kyla Speights also connected on two triples to score eight points off of the bench.
