Midwestern State returns home Oct. 7 for a rematch with Oklahoma Christian.

The second meeting between the Mustangs and Eagles will count in the conference standings.

Pritchard and Jack Larkin accounted for a goal and an assist each in the 3-1 non-conference victory at Oklahoma Christian last week. Escobar saw his streak of goals in eight consecutive matches to start the season come to an end. Escobar nearly extended the streak but hit the woodwork in the 57th minute.

Midwestern State leads the all-time series with the Eagles, 21-2-1, and boasts a 12-0-1 record when hosting Oklahoma Christian, which lost its last visit, 2-0.
Escobar scored twice in a 29-second span as MSU prevailed in the non-conference meeting with Oklahoma Christian at Stang Park last season.

The Eagles and Mustangs met in the final of the LSC Tournament last season, and Midwestern State claimed the LSC postseason title for the third time in four years and for the fifth time overall.

Gavin Scott and Escobar scored goals in the second half and Braman made three saves in the victory.

Lexi Beck is leading the conference and is 12th in the nation with seven goals this season, and four of those goals have been scored in front of the home crowd. Beck, who is tied for fourth in the conference with three assists, leads the LSC and is 14th in the nation with 17 points. She is 3 for 3 from the penalty spot this season. The junior from Fort Worth, Texas, is fifth in the nation with three game-winning goals for the Mustangs. Beck is the most accurate shooter in the LSC as 13 of her 21 shots (61.9 percent) have been on goal, and 13 shots on goal ranks sixth in the conference.

Isabella Cruz, who has scored twice this season, is fifth in the conference with 26 shots, and she is ninth in the league with 10 shots on goal.

Midwestern State's Allessandra Romano scored her first collegiate goal as she finished off a counter-attack with a flying header in the goal area to pull MSU to within a goal with just over three minutes to play in a 2-1 loss at St. Mary's on Saturday.

McKenna Jenkins also scored her first collegiate goal for the Mustangs last week with a header off a Cassidy Savoy cross to cap the scoring in the 5-0 win over Eastern New Mexico at Stang Park. Savoy also assisted Beck on a goal in the 33rd minute, and Jenkins assisted on Beck's goal in the sixth minute.

Ashlynn Knight of Wichita Falls earned her first collegiate point with an assist on a Jewel Lewis goal late in the first half against ENMU. Lewis tallied the third goal of her career. Cruz scored her second goal of the year and the eighth of her career in the 14th minute against the Greyhounds.

The Hilltoppers are coming off a 1-0 victory at Eastern New Mexico on Sunday afternoon as Caitlyn Gonzalez scored in the 20th minute. Eastern New Mexico outshot St. Edward's 14-11, and freshman goalkeeper Daria Schlumbohm made four save for her first clean sheet of the season.

Cabello has taken 10 shots and Gonzalez has nine shots for St. Edward's, which has been outshot, 84-52, this season.

St. Edward's is 2-0-1 in the last three meetings with the Mustangs and leads the all-time series, 8-7-5. Midwestern State is 2-2-4 when hosting the Hilltoppers.

In their last visit, Katie Guy scored in the ninth minute for St. Edward's, but Kelly Cannistra scored the equalizer in the 14th minute and the match finished in a 1-1 draw.

Last year, Elena Ramos Banet scored in the 11th minute and St. Edward's defeated the Mustangs at Lewis-Chen Family Field in Austin, Texas, 1-0. Lexi Jackson made seven saves in the loss for MSU, which had four shots on goal. The Hilltoppers outshot the Mustangs overall, 13-12.

St. Edward's has scored a goal in the opening 11 minutes of the last three encounters. Sarah Preston scored 43 seconds into the 2019 match at Stang Park, and the Hilltoppers prevailed, 1-0.

Midwestern State is seeking its first win in a conference matchup with St. Edward's. The Mustangs are 0-2-1 in conference clashes with the Hilltoppers.

In 2016, Midwestern State advanced past St. Edward's for the second time in the NCAA Tournament as the sixth-seeded Mustangs upset the No. 3 seed Hilltoppers on penalty kicks, 6-5, to move on to the South Central Region semifinals in Commerce, Texas. The Mustangs and Hilltoppers battled to a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes of play before the contest was decided by penalty kicks.

Lindsay Pritchard drilled in her seventh goal of the season to carry Midwestern State to a 1-0 win over St. Edward's in the opening round of the 2011 NCAA Division II Regionals in Abilene, Texas. The landmark result was the first NCAA postseason win for the Mustangs.

The 54-yarder by Vaes was the longest by any Midwestern State kicker at Memorial Stadium and the second longest in program history. It was just shy of Greg Saladino's 57-yard effort in a 37-34 win over Northeastern State in 2011 and the collegiate long of 56 yards set by Abilene Christian's Morgan Lineberry in 2009.

Vaes' kick was the longest in the LSC this season. Gilbert Garza has a 53-yard field goal for TAMUK.

Jalen March rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, as the Mustangs rushed for 284 yards as a team in the win over ENMU.

The Midwestern State defense made a critical stop on 4th and 1 at the MSU 39-yard line as Braden Robinson and Javian Gipson-Holmes stopped ENMU quarterback Mario Sanchez with the Greyhounds leading 28-21 early in the fourth quarter.

Midwestern State was 2-of-2 on fourth-down conversions, but the Mustangs were just 1 of 11 on third-down conversions.

March is the leading rusher in the LSC with 96.3 yards per game. The sophomore from Fort Worth has rushed for 385 yards on 70 carries. March has rushed for three touchdowns and has one receiving touchdown. March is fourth in the league in all-purpose yards with 105 yards per game.

K'Vonte Jackson is second in the LSC with 23.3 yards per kick return.

UT Permian Basin is coming off a 29-17 victory over 16th-ranked Texas A&M – Kingsville. It was the first win over a top-25 team in the history of the UTPB football program. The Falcons are 4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Senior quarterback Kenny Hrncir completed 10-of-24 passes for 120 yards with one interception, and sophomore running back Kory Harris rushed for 104 yards on 19 carries and scored on an 8-yard run in the third quarter. Hrncir rushed for 55 yards on 12 carries and scored a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter as the Falcons took a 27-10 lead.

Senior punter Sergio Landeros earned LSC Special Teams Player of the Week honors, averaging 45.75 yards per punt. Landeros hemmed the Javelinas at their own 1-yard line twice. In the fourth quarter the Falcons scored a safety following one of those punts.

Thanks to a 96-0 win over Texas College and an 86-7 victory at Southwest Baptist, UTPB leads the LSC in scoring with 55.8 point per game. The Falcons are third in the conference, allowing just 19.8 points per game.

UTPB leads the conference in total yards with 480.4 yards per game, and defensively the Falcons boast the best mark with 226.4 yards allowed per game. UTPB is second in the LSC with 198.6 yards rushing per game and leads the league defensively, allowing just 78.4 yards rushing per game.

Hrncir is completing 52.2 percent of his passes (85 of 163) for 1,319 yards and 14 touchdowns with four interceptions.

Senior wide receiver Jeremiah Cooley is the leading receiver for UTPB with 18 receptions for 339 yards and five touchdowns.

Midwestern State leads the all-time series with UTPB, 6-1, and has won the last two meetings, including a 24-23 victory in Midland, Texas, last season Vaes drilled a 42-yard game-winning field goal with 9 seconds left to play. The Mustangs overcame a 16-point deficit.
