Setti, Dangerfield Recognized As Marie Morgan Award Winners; MSU's Most Outstanding Student-Athletes

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State's Germano Setti and Jadyn Dangerfield were presented as Midwestern State's Outstanding Student-Athletes at the annual MSU Student-Athlete Awards Banquet Monday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

The award is presented to the most outstanding student-athlete at MSU for their tireless efforts on behalf of his or her team, and the entire program. Also, for exemplary participation throughout the community on behalf of Midwestern State University.

Dangerfield, a graduate student from Mesquite, Texas, earned all-conference honors at both LSC Cross Country Championship and LSC Indoor Track & Field Championship this academic season.

She aided the Mustangs Cross Country program to a second place finish at the conference championships, the highest finish at conference championships since 2018. Dangerfield claimed 10th in a time of 22:07.73, while finishing 40th for the Mustangs in the NCAA South Central Regional. On the track, Dangerfield has been impactful, earning second team all-conference honors at the LSC Indoor Track & Field Championships, while setting six personal bests this season.

Dangerfield also led the way in the classroom, graduating this past winter with an undergraduate degree in computer science and is continuing their degree pursuing a master degree in computer science, and is four-time member of the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Setti, a native of Carazinho, Brazil, has been the top singles for the Mustangs all season. Garnering a #17 singles ranking and #40 doubles ranking, Setti holds a 12-4 record in singles play with two nationally ranked victories. In doubles this season, Setti is 16-2 overall, while holding a 15-2 record with partner Matthew Earle.

The senior is a three-time all-conference selection, while earning LSC Academic Player of the Year (2024), CSC Academic All-American status (2024), while being on the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll seven times, and six times on the President's Honor Roll. Additionally, Setti is the SAAC President, and helped spearhead a Make-A-Wish Fundraiser, helping raise over 2,000 dollars for the organization.

Setti is a General Business major, holding a 3.971 career grade-point average.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) announced the Robert Grays 24Strong Teammate of the Year for each of the 13 programs as voted by their peers. In addition, the MSU Athletic Department unveiled the 2025-26 Mustang Scholars, while the Midwestern State Strength and Conditioning Staff recognized the Iron Horse Award, given to the student-athletes showing exceptional dedication and commitment in the weight room.
