MSU Athletics Announces Hall of Honor Class of 2025

All three recepients will be recognized during halftime of the homecoming football game against #8 Central Washington, Oct. 25

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State Athletics is excited to announce the 2025 inductees to the Hall of Honor. Three Midwestern State alumni represent the 2025 Hall of Honor Class, representing three different athletic programs: Lauren Craig (Softball, 2007-10), Molly Von Hemert Heath (Volleyball, 1991-1994), and Jim Wall (Men's Basketball, 1963-67).

Lauren Craig – Softball
Lauren Craig played four seasons for the Mustangs softball program, earning several athletic and academic honors. On the field, Craig led the 2010 Mustangs squad to the NCAA Division II Super Regional Tournament, posting a .348 batting average, with 57 hits and 49 RBIs in her final season. Playing over 200 games for the Mustangs, Craig earned all-South Central region honors from the NFCA and Daktronics in 2010, along with earning Lone Star Conference North Division Player of the Year. Craig earned Midwestern State's Marie Morgan Award in 2010, given to MSU's Outstanding Female Student-Athlete. A two-time all-conference selection, Craig won the 2010 Fred Jacoby LSC Academic Athlete of the Year and was named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America First Team.

Molly Van Hemert Heath– Volleyball
Molly Van Hemert Heath elevated Midwestern State's Volleyball program, playing four seasons with sustained success. The setter, originally from Garland, Texas, led the Mustangs to four-straight NAIA District 8 Playoff appearances (1991-1994). While at Midwestern State, Van Hemert helped the program to a top-four or better finish in the Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association (TIAA) each season, helping MSU win the TIAA championship in 1993. The championship in 1993 was the volleyball programs first conference championship, finishing with a record of 21-10. Individually, Van Hemert was a three-time all-TIAA first team award winner, and earned NAIA All-District 8 second team accolades in three seasons at Midwestern State.

Jim Wall – Men's Basketball
Jim Wall's success continued after his basketball career at Midwestern State, holding a distinguishing coaching career. Wall played four seasons for the men's basketball program, helping the team win three conference championships and three NAIA District 8 Championships. Wall earned two all-conference honors in his career, finishing his MSU career with 843 points and 259 rebounds. Wall started a decorated coaching career after his Midwestern State playing career, working at the high school and collegiate level. Wall made coaching stops at Texas Tech, Sam Houston State, and West Texas State, and he won more than 300 games while coaching at Paschal High School. Wall coached more than 75 all-district honorees, more than 25 all-region winners, four all-state athletes, and four All-Americans. Wall garnered more than 700 wins as a head coach and more than 1000 wins in the entirety of his coaching career.

The group will be honored during Homecoming weekend and receive special recognition at halftime of the Midwestern State football game against No. 8 Central Washington. Kickoff at Memorial Stadium is scheduled for Saturday night at 7 p.m.
