LAWTON, Okla. -- Midwestern State scored two runs in the seventh inning of the nightcap to gain a split with Cameron Sunday afternoon at McMahon Field.
The Mustangs rallied for a 5-4 victory in Game 2 after Cameron jumped on MSU for seven runs in the first inning en route to an 8-0 run-rule win in the opener.
Midwestern State moved to 6-25 on the season and 5-11 in Lone Star Conference play, while Cameron stands at 19-15 and 7-9.

Cameron blitzed Midwestern State with seven-run first inning on the way to an 8-0 run-rule win in five innings to take Game 1 Sunday afternoon at McMahon Field.
The Aggies sent 12 batters to the plate and took advantage of two MSU errors in the decisive first inning.
CU senior Madyson Marvulli blasted a three-run home run to left field to highlight inning while Karis Clark and Josie Swafford also drove in runs.
Midwestern State starter
Malea Rodriguez settled in to shutout Cameron through the next three innings before the Aggies finished off the run-rule scoring a run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Rodriguez took the loss to fall to 1-5 allowing four earned runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings.Â
Peyton Lee hit her fourth double of the season in fourth inning, while
Bailey Brenek and
Daylan Inkman added singles.
Cameron's Breley Webb improved to 8-4 in the circle with the three-hit shutout. The junior lefty accounted for six strikeouts and walked one.

Midwestern State's
Bailey Brenek belted her second home run to tie the game at 4-4 in the seventh inning before
Peyton Lee put the go-ahead in scoring position with a double to the right-field gap in Game 2 Sunday afternoon at McMahon Field.
Maci Sanders, who pinch ran for Lee, advanced to third base on a passed ball then came into score on
Mikey Dominguez' sacrifice fly to right field.
Sophomore
Kennedy Cameron went the distance in the circle to improve to 4-8. She allowed four runs on five hits with eight strikeouts.
The Mustangs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning spurred by run scoring singles by Lee and Dominguez.
Dominguez, who finished 3-for-3 with RBIs, lined a triple off the center-field fence to extend MSU's advantage to 3-0 in the third inning.
Cameron's Kaiden Boren launched her second homer of the season to put the Aggies on the board in the bottom of the third. Kylie French added a two-out, two-run single to tie the game at 3-3.
CU claimed its only lead of the game at 4-3 on Josie Swafford's solo homer in the bottom of the sixth, but the Mustangs had the answer in the seventh.
Swafford (5-4) was saddled for the loss allowing three earned runs on 12 hits despite logging 10 strikeouts.
Senior
Ashley Turner joined Dominguez with three hits, while Brenek and Lee accounted for two hits each.
