Hannah Reynolds complied a 21-point performance as the Mustangs fall to 11-10 overall and 5-6 in Lone Star Conference play.
MSU shot just 36.7 percent from the field and were 3-of-12 from behind the arc. TWU recorded their best shooting percent of the year at 56.4 from the floor and 55 percent from deep.

Christopher Reay. "We had good looks early and we just didn't hit them. Then we were playing catch up for the rest of the game."
Midwestern State got off to a slow start with Reynolds scoring the first six points for the home side while Texas Woman's tallied 12. MSU banked just 11 points in the first ten minutes on 25 percent shooting from the floor. TWU's Ariyanna Hines clinched the last second three-pointer, which allowed the visitors to take a nine-point lead.
Though they didn't score until four minutes in, the Mustangs picked up the pace in the second quarter to outscore the Pioneers 17-16. Senior
Morgan Lenahan's jumper and trey ball gave MSU some energy on the offensive side while the Mustangs held TWU to 42 percent shooting, their lowest of the game.
Reynolds clinched 14 of her 21 points in the first half while sophomore Scout Huffman led with ten points for the Pioneers.
Texas Woman's jumped on Midwestern State in the third period, putting up 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting. The visitors went on a 13-0 run to take their largest lead of the match at 21 points with 1:54 left to play. Junior Keslyn King dropped eight points in the quarter. MSU was 6-of-19 from the field.
The Mustangs tried to force a comeback in the final ten minutes by dropping 23 points. Lenahan tallied 12 of her 17 points in the second half. The guard was 5-of-16 from the field and 5-of-6 from the line. MSU cut TWU's lead to 16 on sophomore
Eternity Jackson's three-pointer with 3:45 left in the game. Huffman collected seven more points before the final whistle to help push the Pioneers above the Mustangs.
Reynolds collected her second 20+ point game of the season and added four blocks. Lenahan led on the boards with eight rebounds while sophomore
Frances King grabbed five assists and ten points.
TWU's Huffman finished with 21 points, going 8-of-10 from the field. King added 16 points and four assists while junior Brielle Woods collected 14 points and six rebounds. Freshmen Kayla Glover and Hines tallied five assists each.
"We have to come out with some energy on Thursday," said Reay. "We are a resilient bunch and have to find some more consistency."
Midwestern State returns to D.L. Ligon Coliseum on Thursday, Feb. 10. The Mustangs take on Western New Mexico in the final Lone Star Conference game of the week. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
