ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Henderson State's Erika Bittinger and Savannah Carrigan combined to shutout Midwestern State in a 5-0 win Sunday morning at Dee White Field.
The Reddies claimed their first win of the season improving to 1-11, while MSU fell to 1-7.
TURNING POINT
Henderson State pinch runner Britlyn Garrett's steal of home ignited a triple steal and a three-run second inning for the Reddies.
Monica Monreal drew a leadoff walk and was lifted for Garrett. Bittinger followed with a double down the left-field line before Lexi Trejo reached on a bunt single to third base to load the bases.
Garrett enticed a throw to throw to third base and broke for the plate allowing all three runners to advance 60 feet.
The Reddies added two more runs on a RBI ground out and a fielder's choice to take a 3-0 lead.

- Freshman
Mikey Dominguez went 2-for-3 mashing her first collegiate triple off of the center-field wall in the fifth inning. She also singled and stole a base in the third inning.
- Junior
Ashley Turner extended her hitting streak to 10 games with a single through the left-side of the infield in the first inning.
- Sophomore
Hanna Hetherington accounted for a leadoff single in the fourth inning. She has reached base in her last four games.
- Sophomore
Kennedy Cameron recorded a season-high five strikeouts in three innings of relief. She has fanned nine battered in her last 9 2/3 innings in the circle.
- Henderson State starter Erika Bittinger allowed four hits over five innings in her second start of the season. She recorded three strikeouts and issued one walk. Savannah Carrigan struck out four in two hitless innings of relief.
