ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Heather Brown pop-up to right field in the bottom of the seventh inning found the turf allowing Hope Waid to score from second base with the winning run lifting Ouachita Baptist to a 2-1 victory over Midwestern State Saturday afternoon at Sully Anderson Field.
The Tigers claimed their third consecutive win to improve to 3-8, while MSU fell to 1-5.
TURNING POINT
Hope Waid reached on an error with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, then stole second base to give Ouachita Baptist an extra opportunity with a runner in scoring position.
Heather Brown followed with a pop-up to right that alluded three MSU fielders to drop for a single allowing Waid to easily score from second.
The ending spoiled a brilliant performance by MSU starter
Kennedy Cameron, who permitted one earned run on five hits in 6 2/3 innings. The sophomore kept the Tigers off-balance by changing speeds finishing with four strikeouts.
Cameron came up with two critical strikeouts after Waid drilled a one-out triple to right field in the fifth inning.

Hanna Hetherington clubbed her first home run of the season to left-center field in the second inning. It was her fourth career home run.

Ashley Turner extended her hitting streak to eight games lining her fourth double of the season to left field in the fifth inning.

Paige Bryant went 1-for-3 with a single to center field in the fourth inning.
- Ouachita Baptist's Madison Miller evened her record at 2-2 while dropping her ERA to 1.45. The senior limited the Mustangs to one run on three hits with six strikeouts.
